Burnout is an increasing challenge, but meaningful social connections can make all the difference, especially in remote teams. 💡 This recent Spiceworks article highlights ten strategies to prevent burnout, many of which focus on the importance of communication and work-life balance. We know firsthand how powerful building social connections can be for individuals and teams. Strengthening those bonds is essential for reducing stress, boosting morale, and creating a more engaged, resilient workforce. 🔑 Here’s how we integrate some of these strategies: 🤟🏼 Open communication: Encourage transparent team check-ins in a low-stress environment to build trust and make engagement a weekly habit. 🤞🏼 Social interaction: Regular live-hosted trivia brings teams together, fosters conversation, and gives people a real reason to learn and care about each other. 🤙🏼 Work-life balance: Flexible and fun activities help to prevent burnout and keep energy high, and company cultures that are rooted in having fun together have lower turnover rates. It’s all about making sure employees feel valued and connected, whether they're in the office or working remotely. When teams communicate and engage socially, they’re more likely to thrive. #EmployeeWellbeing #RemoteTeams #BurnoutPrevention #TeamBuilding #MentalHealth #EmployeeHappiness #EmployeeEngagement #TeamBonding

Knowing your colleagues' interests can make all the difference in building stronger connections. Did you know coffee was the first food to be preserved using a unique process? On September 29th, we celebrated National Coffee Day, so it’s the perfect time to discover who the coffee lovers are in your remote-team! Getting to know small details about coworkers—like their favorite brew or that perfect set of pens for the writer in your team—makes gift-giving easy, and more importantly, it helps build bonds. When we connect on a personal level, we care about each other's success, and that leads to more collaboration and higher team performance. 🎁💡 The best teams are the ones that support each other in every way, making projects smoother, and boosting company growth while watching out for each other’s well-being. How well do you know your teammates? #TeamBuilding #EmployeeEngagement #RemoteWork #PsychologicalSafety #TriviaFun #NationalCoffeeDay #CompanyCulture #EmployeeHappiness

Turning awkward "team building" into authentic, fun camaraderie through remote trivia leagues | Chief Nerd at Anywhere League | Source of random facts

With October starting this week, lots of people are thinking of holiday plans. 🍯 🎃 🪔 🦃 🎄 🎆 I'm curious—what are your favorite (or not-so-favorite) ways to celebrate the holiday season remotely? I've seen the good and the bad. Like an employee on parental leave using the team's holiday trivia event as a good excuse to hop on and introduce everyone to their new baby. I've also got a cabinet full of cocktail shakers from well-intentioned mixology events companies hosted. What do you do? And if you want to share something anonymously, check out the comments! If I get enough responses, I'd be happy to share all this info around in some form.

Yay, this is (part of) my trivia team! I haven't met Oren or Alex (who is too modest about her trivia skills) in person, but I consider them both friends, thanks to Anywhere League. I agree with everything Kathleen (also a friend) says in this post. You don't have to breathe the same air to develop genuine relationships; you just need opportunities to work together as a team.

Think employees have to be in-person to form relationships? Allow me to introduce The Corvids. This is a group of people who got along so well together playing Anywhere League at a previous company they all worked for, they kept on playing even when they left for different jobs. Yes, they’re all on new teams at new companies. But they still hang out together in our remote trivia league calls. They’re the main reason I get so angry when people say going back to the office is better for team relationships. Y’all, I’ve even planned vacations around being able to stop in and see some of these people – my customers. And I just host the quiz! So stop with the “We need to be in-person!” nonsense. Real relationships based on trust, respect, and having fun together can definitely happen online.   Maybe you’ve tried hosting online team-building and it was awkward. The challenge is: an open forum doesn’t work. You need something to do together with a shared goal. That’s where games can play a powerful role. Check out this video to learn more about The Corvids and how Anywhere League turns awkward "team building" into authentic, fun experiences!
