Skype A Scientist is offering $300-$1,000 mini-grants to support boots-on-the-ground science communication to support projects that put either 1) important science messages or 2) fun, whimsical science messaging in front of people in your community IRL. Awardees will be able to scheme with Skype a Scientist staff about the implementation of their projects, if desired. You do not need to be a scientist or professional science communicator to apply. This funding can be used to support a new or existing project. Examples of successful projects include a gum ball/gashapon machine, located in a high-traffic location, that delivers science information and one action item OR an interactive exhibit on a subway platform that people can play with while they wait for the train.
