For 25 years, Argus has focused on its niche market of fuel receiving, storage, dispensing and distribution facilities and systems for commercial, military and general aviation as well as North America’s premier rail companies. 🏌️♂️⛳ Celebrating the 2nd Annual Argus Golf Scramble! ⛳🏌️♀️ Our team had a "hole lot of fun" in an epic day of friendly competition at the Fred Arbanas Golf Crse. With perfect autumn weather and plenty of laughs, the battle through 18 holes included: 🏆 Closest to the Pin: Chris Straub, President of Argus Consulting (also part of the "highest score" duo in last place—what a swing! 😉) 💪 Longest Drive: Matt Ponzer, Project Manager, driving it home! He teamed up with Rhett Johnson, Senior Structural Engineer, for a solid second-place finish (aka “first losers,” as their hilarious prizes made it clear they're not exactly pros 😆). 🎯 Longest Putt: Seth Newbold, P.E., Project Manager, nailed it, also securing the overall WIN with Matthew Knight, PE, Project Manager, to take home the coveted traveling Argus Scramble trophies! But it wasn’t just about the competition—we raised $250 for our "Start of Positive Change Jar," supporting our philanthropy efforts for the Veterans Community Project of Kansas City. So, I'm celebrating 20 years here at Argus Consulting. It has been an awesome experience. I've watched the company grow from a partnership to an ESOP, to now have have 3 different companies (Argus Consulting, Argus Construction and SAIM). I've travelled from New York, to Alaska and down to Columbia South America and over the pond to Portugal. I've been to over 500 cities and have met a bunch of interesting people along the way. The thing that is odd is that it really doesn't feel like it has been that long and I think it is because I get to work with some very good people that do not make work feel so much like work. I actually enjoy spending time with my co-workers and a really enjoy some of the interesting challenges we get to solve for our clients. I would hope for anyone is to be able to spend a career working in a place they feel valued and appreciated, but also where work just doesn't feel like a job. We make a difference here, I am a part of it, and I am proud of that. Some interesting facts (to me at least): Nearly 700 project numbers billed Over 31000 billable hours - over 16 years billable. 7500 to JFK alone Over 500 cities visited Been to 4 different countries - soon to be 5 this month Argus had 14 people when I started, I still work with 5 of them, most of the rest have retired. Now we are just over 100 employees. Other bits to note now that the new hires are younger than my kids (ouch). I was a Scoutmaster for 4 years and at least 7 of my scouts have, or are studying engineering, 5 at my alma mater, and we actually hired one of my Eagle scouts.
