ArtLifting is featured on the front page of The Boston Globe business section today! 📰😍 jonathan saltzman’s article highlights how some of the biggest names in biotech—like Moderna, Pfizer, Takeda, Eli Lilly and Company, and Foundation Medicine—are transforming their spaces with ArtLifting artwork by artists with disabilities. One of our amazing artists, Lisa Murphy, said it best: “People need to reassess who they think is mentally ill and who they think is disabled. It’s not as easy to dismiss the entire disability community if you’re looking them in the face. Literally.” Her words powerfully convey the importance of visibility and inclusion. We couldn’t be prouder of our artists like Lisa, Allen Chamberland, Nick Morse, and Rudolph Jean-Louis, whose incredible work is now showcased in the article and spaces across Boston. Thank you to our partners for championing inclusion and social impact! Through partnerships like these, we’re able to uplift the stories and talents of 190 artists across 35 states. Since our founding ten years ago, we’ve sold tens of millions of dollars of artwork with the majority of the profit from art sales going straight back to the artists. We're grateful to our clients for recognizing the importance of inclusive design and social impact in their spaces, and to the talented and innovative artists whose work is at the forefront of this movement. 🙌 Huge thanks to our partners at Moderna, Pfizer, Sanofi, Takeda, Ipsen, BlueRock Therapeutics, Remix Therapeutics, Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., National Development, and WS Development for championing our mission. Together, we’re creating environments that foster positive change. This National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), we’re celebrating the theme “Access to Good Jobs for All” by highlighting the impact of #AccessibleJobs in the arts! Did you know that companies leading in disability inclusion experience 1.6x more revenue, 2.6x more net income, and 2x more economic profit than others? Yet, the unemployment rate for disabled workers is more than double that of non-disabled workers (9.1% vs. 4.3%). Together we can change this! ArtLifting is committed to providing opportunities for talented artists with disabilities, offering a platform for them to showcase and sell their incredible work. Through ArtLifting, artists like Elizabeth Shanahan (@elizabeth.shanahan) whose work is pictured here, are able to thrive. Elizabeth shares: “I’ve been able to pay medical bills, send my daughter to summer camp, and purchase art supplies. It feels amazing to meaningfully contribute to my family’s income.” Visit the ArtLifting website and learn more about our work and impact: https://lnkd.in/gt9Np9i Image Description: Afternoon Cloudburst - Painting with blue mountains in the distance under a cloudy sky. ArtLifting is proud to welcome Elizabeth Deegan to our artist community! 🌟 Elizabeth is a San Francisco-based stained glass artist whose intricate and vibrant work speaks to her journey of resilience. After overcoming cancer twice, Elizabeth found new purpose in her artistic practice. “The repetitive process of designing, cutting, and assembling glass grounds me and gives me a sense of control in an unpredictable world,” she explains. Her art combines bold colors and thoughtful design, often inspired by nature, light, and personal transformation. Elizabeth’s creative process is as inspiring as the finished pieces themselves. She starts by sketching her designs on large graph paper, meticulously selecting color combinations, and spending days cutting, foiling, and soldering glass to bring her vision to life. The way her stained glass transforms a space with light symbolizes the hope and resilience she brings to her work. 💪 Join us in celebrating Elizabeth’s stunning work and story! We’re proud to welcome Adrian Eric Chrissos back to ArtLifting! 🙌 Adrian, a self-taught artist working out of Chicago, shares that “art has helped me learn to trust, love, and above all... survive.” After facing addiction and being unhoused, he has now celebrated over 3 years of sobriety and uses art as a means of healing and reflection. Adrian’s work, which combines the intentional strokes of palette knives with the unpredictability of fluid ink, tells deeply personal stories. "When I create art, I feel like I’ve made something come to life in the world," Adrian says. His goal is to inspire viewers and help them see mental illness and addiction in a new light. ArtLifting is on the cover of the Boston Globe Business Section today!!! The photo of artist Lisa Murphy takes up the entire top fold! Here is the link to the full article: https://lnkd.in/gqFPfF63 Big thanks to biotech reporter jonathan saltzman for reaching out to us after seeing ArtLifting work in Eli Lilly and Company and Foundation Medicine Headquarters. Jonathan interviewed four artists and multiple ArtLifting clients for the piece. Congrats to featured artists Lisa Murphy, Allen Chamberland, Nick Morse, and Rudolph Jean-Louis. Thanks to our artists for trusting ArtLifting to represent them! One of my favorite quotes from the article is from Lisa, who speaks to the power of including ArtLifting artists’ stories alongside their incredible art. “Oh my goodness, I’m putting all my laundry out there. But as time went on, I thought, ‘This is a good thing.’ People need to reassess who they think is mentally ill and who they think is disabled. It’s not as easy to dismiss the entire disability community if you’re looking them in the face. Literally.” 👏👏👏 Many thanks to our Massachusetts biotech clients for championing artists with disabilities in their spaces: Moderna, Pfizer, Sanofi, Takeda, Ipsen, BlueRock Therapeutics, and Remix Therapeutics. HUGE thanks to WS Development for their years of support including purchasing a 20 x 20 foot piece by Rudolph Jean-Louis for Foundation Medicine’s headquarters. Give a warm welcome to new ArtLifting artist Eliza Redmann (@folded_poetry on Instagram) of Durham, North Carolina! 💎 Eliza's journey combines her background in architecture with her lived experience of a #TraumaticBrainInjury to create #3D artwork that is both functional and visually captivating. Her sculptures explore complex geometric patterns and shapes, often using paper as her primary medium. Eliza shares, “Both the function and aesthetic of my work are born out of experiencing disability.” Through her art, she challenges viewers to see the world through her eyes, creating pieces that are not only beautiful but also meaningful and impactful. Eliza will partner with ArtLifting to provide clients with site-specific commissions, like Journey, (pictured in the first two images here) which was created with Greystar Apartments for The Fiona Luxury Apartments in Colorado Springs.
