Atlantic Shores welcomed a group of students from the New Jersey Institute of Technology Early College Prep Program to our ECO Center in Atlantic City to participate in the OffshoreWind4Kids Demo Day! The students engaged in a hands-on learning experience that introduced them to the concepts and technology behind offshore wind energy.    Demo Day provides students with an opportunity to explore model wind turbines and gain insights into the engineering and technological innovations driving the offshore wind industry. Supporting events like this is just one way Atlantic Shores is dedicated to fostering STEM education and inspiring the next generation of renewable energy leaders. Yesterday evening, Atlantic Shores team members (Bhavini A. Doshi and Peter Montalvo) joined the Joe Shimko Foundation for its 3rd Annual Fundraiser to support Monmouth Ocean Foundation for Children. Atlantic Shores is proud to support a foundation dedicated to enhancing children’s programs in Monmouth County and surrounding communities.

Atlantic Shores had an incredible time participating in an Offshore Wind open house series hosted by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA). At public programs in Mercer, Essex, and Atlantic counties, these engagements are invaluable in sharing information and resources with the public about the State's offshore wind initiatives and the significant role they play in New Jersey’s clean energy future. A special thank you to New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, and the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development for organizing these informative sessions alongside the NJEDA.

Today, the Biden-Harris Administration issued its Record of Decision (RoD) for Atlantic Shores Project 1 and 2. This milestone brings us one step closer to delivering clean energy to the Garden State and combined these projects will power more than 1 million homes !    Atlantic Shores is committed to continued collaboration with BOEM, Tribal Nations, consulting agencies across all of government, and our host communities as we work to deliver New Jersey's first offshore wind projects. Atlantic Shores had a wind-erful time at #GlobalWindDay earlier this month at Liberty State Park in Jersey City! Alongside the NJ Chapter of the Sierra Club, New Jersey LCV, NJ Wind Works Coalition, labor unions, and various environmental groups and environmental justice partners, we enjoyed talking to community members about the benefits of offshore wind and its role in New Jersey’s clean energy future. Atlantic Shores Project 1 will generate enough energy to power over 700,000 households and will have an overall economic impact of $1.9 billion for NJ!

On Tuesday, Atlantic Shores completed its final Green Acres public hearing, marking a critical step forward towards delivering our project in Atlantic County. Guided by our core values of being a good steward of our environment and being a good neighbor, Atlantic Shores coordinated closely with the City of Atlantic City, expert engineers, and other partners to propose an onshore route that would avoid, minimize, and mitigate effects to the environment and host communities. We look forward to continued progress and helping New Jersey reach its clean energy targets.
