Update!! It’s happening— our Charlotte building is almost complete! See these pics of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine emblem being posted on the building where our first Class of 48 Charlotte Campus Students will begin their educations in July 2025. • Big news for Greensboro! We’ve broken ground on a brand-new Outpatient Surgery Center, Medical Office Building, and Cancer Center on Horse Pen Creek Rd. 🎉🏗 Today, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist kicked off the $163 million project to bring top-quality healthcare close to home. This new five-story, 134,000-square-foot building will house specialists in cardiology, gastroenterology, general surgery, orthopaedics and more. 🏥 The outpatient surgery center will feature three operating rooms and two procedure rooms. In addition, the new cancer center will provide patients with access to the best specialists, leading-edge research, advanced technology, and clinical trials. 🥼 Dr. Julie Freischlag, our CEO, shared her excitement: "We're thrilled to start this project that will make it easier for our community to access the highest levels of care and resources of our academic learning health system." Plus, there will be infusion bays, a pharmacy, imaging, and physical therapy services, making it more convenient to get the care you need all in one spot. 🩻 Dr. David Zaas, our president, added, "This groundbreaking is not just about new facilities. It shows our long-term commitment to growing and investing in Greensboro." We can't wait to make health care more accessible and convenient for everyone living and working in Greensboro. The new center is expected to open in 2026, so keep an eye out for updates! 📸 Photo credits to Red Cardinal Studio Read more on this here: https://bit.ly/4e4Y6at

“I know I will wave my hand and she’ll be there.” Sue says her virtual nursing team made her feel safe, supported and cared for during her recent hospital stay. But most importantly, it helped her return home sooner. That success is why nurses from Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore, are visiting several of our facilities in Charlotte, N.C., so they can learn from Advocate Health’s expert nursing teams about the implementation and benefits of virtual nursing. "Advocate Health is at the forefront of health care innovation,” said Patricia Mook, senior vice president, enterprise nursing operations, education and professional development for Advocate Health. “Our collaboration with the Singapore nursing contingent is a testament to our dedication to improving health outcomes through cutting-edge technology and shared expertise." The Singaporean nurses will spend two weeks with our nursing teams, exploring our virtual nursing practices and learning about how best to use this advanced technology to care for their own patients back home. It’s part of Advocate Health's commitment to advancing health care through innovation, knowledge exchange and global partnership. Learn more about the visit: https://bit.ly/48emzJ0

  • Another first in our state! 🥇 Atrium Health Levine Children's Brenner Children's Hospital is now an Injury Free Coalition for Kids site, making us the first and only children’s hospital in North Carolina. 🎉 By joining the Injury Free Coalition for Kids, we enhance our ability to prevent injuries and expand our community outreach through partnerships with other organizations. This builds on our long-standing commitment to child injury prevention, supported by our own programs and our Level I pediatric trauma center. We believe the best way to handle kids' injuries is to prevent them in the first place. Each site, run by a dedicated doctor, comes up with programs and interventions that fit their community's needs, all sharing a common goal: keeping kids safe from injuries. Thank you to our trauma team for their top tier dedication to this work! Read more on this milestone here: https://bit.ly/3Uinmmw
