Our new shuttle = more free rides for the homeless in our community!! THANK YOU H-E-B and North Texas Behavioral Health Authority (NTBHA) for funding our new wheelchair-accessible shuttle that expands our Connector Project and provides transportation to #unsheltered individuals. Those receiving rides are taken to locations such Parkland Health Hospital, the Social Security office, The Salvation Army, and other organizations that assist with housing, employment, and so much more. By having transportation to these services, vulnerable individuals receive the help they need to get back on their feet. Also, shoutout to other longstanding partners of the Connector Project: City of Dallas, OurCalling, The Stewpot, DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) - thanks for making this program possible! #grateful #dallas #philanthropy #nonprofit #socialimpact

Our clients have full hearts & tummies thanks to the American Airlines 2nd Annual PB&J Sandwich Drive! At the end of January, the Indian Employee Business Resource Group (IEBRG) at American Airlines celebrated the New Year and 76th Indian Republic Day by giving back to Dallas’ homeless community. With coordination from Charities2Love, volunteers from across American Airlines worked together to prepare 1,350 sandwiches AND wrote notes of encouragement & #kindness for Austin Street clients. We're grateful for this group of changemakers who are making a meaningful difference one sandwich at a time! #community #dallas #volunteering #givingback #nonprofit #makingadifference

Thankful for the #partnership of the Dallas Mavericks & Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers who hosted the annual Winter Warm Up at our shelter! These two organizations have partnered with Austin Street for many years to make sure our residents have a warm coat and special meal during the cold season. This weekend, the Mavs brought 260+ coats and had player PJ Washington, members of the D-Town dance crew, and a few ManiAACs at the shelter to pass out much-needed winter gear to our clients💙 After receiving coats, residents were treated to a Raising Cane's meal and the Mavs organization helped serve. Our neighbors were so grateful for their jackets, tasty tenders, and an overall exciting afternoon! #dallas #partnership #nonprofit #community #givingback #philanthropy

We Sheltered People AND Pets from the Winter Weather!🐶🐈🦎 Austin Street is grateful for Dallas Animal Services & SPCA of Texas who helped us shelter dogs, cats, and reptiles while our Temporary Winter Shelter was open over the past 2 weeks. Our #partnership ensured that the pets of our guests were well taken care of and they provided: 💦 pet food & water ✨ clean kennels and enclosures 🐕 plenty of exercise & health care 💞 lots of love! We recognize that lack of space for animals can be a barrier for guests seeking shelter from the streets, so we’re happy to accommodate individuals AND their companions! #collaboration #dallas #northtexas #winterweather #nonprofit

We asked & #Dallas donated!! 🤩🥹🫶🏽 When our Temporary Winter Shelter opened last week, we needed help providing basic necessities to our guests, and the outpouring of donations was miraculous. With help from volunteers and team member Candace (pictured above!) hundreds of donations were collected, opened, counted, and dispersed. During the winter storm last week, we received: 💕 Over 6000 feminine care products 🫧 3000 tide pods 🩲 1600 pairs of underwear 🧼 900 bars of soap ☃️ 750 blankets 👖 650 sweatpants 🧖🏽♀️ 520 bath towels 🧥 320 coats 🫶🏽 and more! We're beyond grateful for all support, and we can’t thank everyone enough. As more alarming weather approaches this week, we hope these items will carry us through this next winter storm. Comment if you or your organization wish to get involved during this next cold spell! #winterweather #northtexas #donations #nonprofit
