Join us in celebrating Robert Brown, Kendra Burnight and Dewey Toole!🥳 Our 3PL leaders are proud to present this extraordinary trio with their certificate of completion for turret truck training. Turret trucks bring pallets of products down narrow aisles and up to their proper storage location. At the Austin Lighthouse, these turrets are operated by our visually impaired team members. 🧑🦯 Congrats, everyone! Each of you are shining examples of our mission of enhancement training. 🌟

🏠✨We partnered with Austin Habitat for Humanity for another  wonderful opportunity to give back to our community. With tool belts on and smiles bright, our volunteers (Angel Rodriguez, Angie Hall, Claude Furry, Monica Zuniga, Chris Rios, Robert Rodriguez, Christina Fernandez, Tania Kuhn, and Amanda Lizotte) spent the day working on kitchen cabinet and doorway installation on a future affordable home for a deserving family. It was a great day of learning, networking, and teambuilding. We can’t wait for our next opportunity to make a positive impact! 💪🔨✨ #CommunityService #Teambuilding

After 11 years of dedicated service, our truck driver David Gonzales has officially retired. David has been the engine that kept our operations running smoothly, moving products between buildings, delivering customer orders, and even dropping off pallets of sanitizer donations throughout Central Texas. Not only is David a phenomenal worker, but he also brings so much joy to our team with his great sense of humor and down-to-earth personality. We're grateful for all the hard work and positivity he's brought to our team over the years. Join us in wishing David a happy and well-deserved retirement! 🎉🌟

🌟 We had the incredible opportunity to join the CEO of The Lighthouse of Houston for a meeting with Congressman Lizzie Fletcher on Capitol Hill during the National Industries for the Blind Public Policy Forum. Our Advocate for Leadership & Employment, Brandye Lacy, was honored to share our mission and the impact of NIB associated agencies in empowering the blind. Brandye's personal journey, from being diagnosed with a form of Retinitis Pigmentosa at the age of 15 to receiving life-changing support from the Lighthouse of Houston, is a testament to the positive impact of organizations like ours. The services provided, such as adaptive technology training, eye exams, and eyewear, made a profound impact on her education and employment journey. We are grateful to Rep. Fletcher and her staff for the opportunity to advocate for the AbilityOne 1% Utilization Goal for the Department of Defense. By supporting this goal, you are helping create employment and training opportunities for the nearly 70% of people across the United States who are blind. Together, we can make a difference and empower individuals with visual impairments to thrive in the workforce. Let's continue to champion this cause and create more opportunities for the blind community. #NIBAdvocacy #DisabilityAdvocacy #ChampionEmploymentGrowth #DEIA
