Cunniffe Commons at Ringling College of Art and Design provides a modern dining experience while staying true to the college’s mission of fostering creativity and collaboration. Ayers Saint Gross environmental graphic design and architecture teams drew inspiration from an urban food hall to deliver a vibrant environment that resonates with the innovative campus community. The Commons features nine unique dining platforms, each with their own distinct brand, that work together to create an atmosphere of diversity, choice, and experimentation.

Don't miss Principal Shannon Dowling, AIA at Campus Home. LIVE! 2024 this weekend for the Association of College & University Housing Officers - International. Shannon will be presenting along with Rob Lubin about "Assessing the Built Environment for Alignment with DEI Values" in Educational Session 311 on Sunday from 1:30 to 2:20 p.m.
Are you going to Campus Home. LIVE! 2024 at the end of the month? If so, Rob Lubin and I are presenting "Assessing the Built Environment for Alignment with DEI Values." This presentation reviews my Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) Fellows research that examined the relationship between physical space and belonging. We will also share a proof-of-concept application of that research to assess and improve the residential experience at the University of Washington. The assessment, conducted last spring and summer by Ayers Saint Gross, combined quantitative data about building amenities, room counts and sizes, and occupancy with qualitative data collected through visual observations, listening sessions, and asynchronous student feedback. Facilities were rated in five categories: choice and voice, connection, comfort, security and well-being, and signage and direction. Our team assessed each facility for strengths and improvement opportunities at multiple scales. Rob will share how UW has used the assessment and its takeaways to improve existing space and inform new facility plans. If you plan to be in Milwaukee for this event, we'd love to have you join us! We are Educational Session 311 on Sunday at 1:30, and it would be great to see some familiar faces in the Association of College & University Housing Officers - International audience! #diversityequityandinclusion #assessment #studenthousing #belonging

Ayers Saint Gross reposted this
Last month, Ayers Saint Gross celebrated our annual Green Week coincident with Earth Day. Organized by my excellent teammates Katie McRury and Jonah Rosen, LEED AP, Green Week included 5 lunch time learning sessions from both external and internal speakers as well as a design documentary screening and two volunteering events. Check out the write-up at our blog post linked below. Following in the radically transparent steps of Michelle Amt, FAIA, Z Smith, and Kjell Anderson, FAIA, LEED Fellow, I'm almost pumped to say our most recent AIA2030 Commitment data is published in that post around the mid-scroll point too.

Ayers Saint Gross team members were honored to serve among the many volunteers who helped plant marsh grasses and coastal shrubs for the National Aquarium’s new Harbor Wetlands exhibit. Featuring a learning dock and a network of floating islands, this wetland exhibit is designed to reintroduce a salt marsh ecosystem back into Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and is scheduled to open later this year. Ayers Saint Gross landscape architects have been working with the National Aquarium on the design for the exhibit since 2018, as an expansion of our sustainable floating wetland prototype designed with Biohabitats, McLaren Engineering Group, and Kovacs, Whitney & Associates in continuation of Studio Gang’s EcoSlip concept.
