In celebration of #InternationalDayoftheGirl, we are proud to announce the second cohort of our #GameChangers initiative! This powerful collective of women leaders across sports, entertainment, and business, and more, embody the shared belief that "if you can see it, you can be it". According to recent CDC data, 3 in 5 teen girls in the U.S. are facing mental health challenges, which can have lasting implications for their career readiness and overall social and academic success. Research shows that positive mentoring relationships can significantly enhance self-esteem and confidence among girls, as they navigate the pressures of adolescence and beyond. Together, in collaboration with this dynamic coalition of women Game Changers, we will amplify the power of positive mentorship across industries and communities, to create access and opportunities for young women who need it the most. We're excited to share this inspiring video created by The Female Quotient, where girls from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County had the chance to share their aspirations + talk about what makes them feel strong and "INpower". A huge thank you to Female Quotient, Danica Selvaggio and BBBSVC for reminding us of the power and potential of girls and young women and why it's so important to support them on their journeys. You’ve heard the phrase “empower women,” but have you ever heard “empower men”? It’s time to rethink the word “empower” when it comes to girls and women. Saying we need to “empower” them implies that they’re waiting for someone else to grant them power as if they can’t claim it themselves. The reality is, we already HAVE the power—we don’t need to wait for permission or validation. On International Day of the Girl and every day, girls should know they don't need to be “EMpowered." They are “INpower.” Because power is something that girls, our next generation of leaders, possess within themselves. The time to act is now—let’s recognize it, celebrate it, and harness our power! #DayOfTheGirl #iamINPOWERED 🎥 Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, BBBS Ventura, Être Girls

Today, we celebrate #InternationalDayoftheGirl with #GameChanger and BBBS alum Gayle King, who spent the day as a Big for five young women from Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey! The girls got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at CBS Mornings, joined Gayle for a photo shoot, and had the opportunity to ask her questions about mentorship, careers, and more. Special thanks to CBS Mornings for giving these future #GameChangers a chance to explore career paths and see what’s possible! #BeBig #BiggerTogether
