Earlier this week we were honored to help facilitate a visit from leaders across the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center as they took a look at #collaboration #opportunities here on Texas A&M-RELLIS and Texas A&M University. They visited the Center for Infrastructure Renewal, met with representatives from Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University, Texas A&M School of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts, and Texas A&M School of Architecture. We look forward to future engagements! Texas A&M Air Force ROTC Det 805

Congressional Staff Delegation visits. We call them STAFFDELs. As much of the work we are doing is funded by federal dollars, it is important for our Senators and Representatives...and more importantly their staffs who help write specific legislation...to see and understand the work the Texas A&M University System and Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) are doing at Texas A&M-RELLIS to advance national security. Many thanks to the TAMUS Government Relations Team for arranging opportunities for staff representatives from the offices of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX, 10), and U.S. Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX, 08) to tour our facilities and see ongoing research in such areas as #hypersonics, #directedenergy, #autonomy and #robotics. We were honored to host you and appreciate what each of you do in helping us accelerate the development of critical technologies to continue protecting our nation.

When the 2019 Texas Legislature provided $50M in funding to help establish the Innovation Proving Ground here on Texas A&M-RELLIS, it was meant not only for Texas A&M University, but other Texas higher education research purposes as well. The vision of The University of Texas at Austin engineering research being tested using Texas A&M University System facilities is now becoming a reality. Big thanks to Army Futures Command, U.S. Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center, UT Austin Defense Research Advancement, and Southwest Research Institute for allowing us to help advance critical technologies for the US Army.
Engineering Evaluation Test about to commence at George H.W. Bush Combat Development Complex. UT researcher Mitch Pryor gives an initial brief of the test objectives to members of U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center, Southwest Research Institute and University Technology Development Division. The Hunter WOLF vehicle is warmed up and ready to begin navigating different obstacles!

Air and ground autonomous vehicle research is one of the core areas Army Futures Command asked the Texas A&M University System to focus on when the strategic partnership was established back in 2019. Last month, our Air-Ground Coordinated Maneuver (AGC) team was honored to host key representatives from U.S. Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory Intelligent Systems Division here on Texas A&M-RELLIS at the Innovation Proving Ground testing areas for a technical demonstration. During the visit, there was a fantastic exchange of technical ideas, fostering innovation. The AGC team looks forward to continued interactions with ARL ISD and #collaborative efforts to advance future unmanned vehicle systems that will enhance unit capabilities, situational awareness, mobility, and speed of action. Big thanks to John Fossaceca, Ph.D., Dr. Baran and Mr. Silva for making the trip here to observe what we are doing firsthand! STATEMENT BY THE GEORGE & BARBARA BUSH FOUNDATION: The George & Barbara Bush Foundation joins our fellow Americans in mourning the innocent life that was lost tonight in Butler, Pennsylvania — and in sending our prayers to President Trump and his family and the other rally attendees who were injured. We are grateful to the United States Secret Service for their quick response. We also join our fellow Americans in condemning this senseless violence, which can have no place in our political process. This great Nation, which so many have fought and died to preserve, deserves better.

The AT&T #5G wireless network here on the Texas A&M-RELLIS campus is one of the most sophisticated in the nation. As our capabilities continue to improve with Innovation Proving Ground, it was great to have an opportunity to meet with representatives from AT&T Business earlier today to discuss our current research and testing efforts and how they could further assist Texas A&M University System national security technology acceleration activities---particularly regarding network support. We're thankful for your time and look forward to additional discussions! One of the trends we're seeing with the United States Department of Defense is a tendency to work with consortiums. As such, it makes perfect sense that the Texas A&M University System would either participate in (University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics for example), or work with other consortiums to advance and accelerate national security key technology development. Just yesterday, we hosted two different groups who are taking a look at potential opportunities to #partner here on Texas A&M-RELLIS to do just that. We were honored to host representatives from BlueForge Alliance, Roush Defense, and Legion Engineering LLC as local industries and also host leaders such as Todd A. Buchs from the recently-established Texas Lab-to-Market Consortium to identify how we can better partner to support national security research and testing needs here in Texas. Special thanks to Texas A&M Innovation for joining-in on the conversation! We look forward to additional #collaboration opportunities!
