We are thrilled to announce that our McChord Fire House Repair project has been recognized with the Mount Tacoma SAME Projects of Excellence Award in the Complexity category AND a People's Choice Award! 🎉 The McChord Field Fire and Rescue Station at JBLM, originally built in 1951, is a crucial facility providing fire protection, emergency medical services, and flight line support for McChord Field aircraft operations. This project addressed critical issues, including water damage, mold, and space limitations, to design a fully functional, efficient facility that could be constructed with uninterrupted, 24/7 support for emergency response teams. The complex repair of this facility required a DD-1391 to reclassify to a Full Facility Repair, historic coordination, LEED Silver requirements, Building Information Modeling, an ASCE 41-17 Tier 1 Structural Evaluation, preparation of a Design/ Build RFP for a swing site to ensure no downtime for response crews, and extensive stakeholder coordination. A huge shoutout to our multidisciplinary team who made the success of this intricate yet rewarding project possible! Thank you, SAME! Helix Design Group, A Division of Shive-Hattery AHBL Inc. What a blast we had at the WAMOA Fall Conference! Our booth hosted 'The Consultant Dating Game' inspired by this year’s theme, “Come on Down,” and everyone’s favorite ’70s game show. We hope it brought some playful nostalgia to the event! If you stopped by, we hope you had a great time getting to know our team and fellow consultants through fun questions and engaging conversations. Thanks to our collaborators McKinstry, Beresford Company, and Workpointe, let’s keep the connections growing! #WAMOA #WAMOAFallConference #ComeOnDown

Congratulations to Josh Rood, RCDD, CTS-D for achieving the RCDD certification! This prestigious credential signifies Josh's expertise and credibility in designing and specifying communications technology. An RCDD is required when designing federal telecommunications systems, and is helpful when designing modern support infrastructure security and AV systems. RCDD certification and the field it represents are growing in importance and demand, as the rapid expansion and complexity of digital technologies grows. With this certification, Josh is now even better equipped to tackle complex projects and contribute to our company's success by expanding the capabilities we can offer. We're excited to see the innovative solutions he will bring to our clients with his enhanced skills. 🎉👷♂️🔌

Last week, our team gathered to celebrate the 2024 Newbie’s Party—a cherished BCE tradition that's been going strong for over 30 years. Each year, the new hires from the previous year form a committee to plan and host a party for the office. This year, our Newbies brought the spirit of the Olympic Summer Games to our office, and colleagues tested their skills in a variety of fun games. Some of us even took home gold, silver, and bronze medals! Thanks, Newbies, for your efforts and an unforgettable event! 🏅 🎉

Oh, the places BCE goes! Our work takes us all over, from coast to coast and beyond. Senior Associate and Electrical Engineer Carrie Taylor recently found herself in Japan on an assignment at Misawa Air Force Base. This project includes assessments of existing facilities on multiple bases within the Indo-Pacific Command Air Force Operations. Carrie and her team traveled to perform electrical assessments and identify the needs of the existing facilities. "This helps establish infrastructure, upgrade priorities and costs to maintain existing facilities, support Air Force operations, and provide safe working conditions for the personnel" she explains. Where is the furthest you've traveled for a site visit?
