🎯 At Bertelsmann University, Creativity & Entrepreneurship aren’t just concepts—they’re part of our identity. These values drive us to foster innovation capability through unique initiatives like the Bertelsmann Creativity Bootcamp, a powerful platform to build future-ready skills by blending technology and customer centricity with business development. Through cross-divisional teamwork and innovative methodologies, participants realize these values by fostering new ideas, challenging conventions, and building forward-thinking solutions. 💡 We’re especially pleased that Wiesje Vornberger’s experience on the jury highlighted these goals, underscoring the Bootcamp as “an incredible platform for fostering new ideas, challenging the status quo, and embracing bold innovation.”   Thank you, Wiesje, for sharing your valuable insights with the community!  #CreativityAndEntrepreneurship #BertelsmannUniversity #Innovation

Inspiring Creativity and Innovation at the Bertelsmann Creativity Bootcamp in Berlin! 🎉 Hosted by Bertelsmann University the Creativity Bootcamp was an incredible platform for fostering new ideas, challenging the status quo, and embracing bold innovation. Over the course of three days, 8 talented teams worked intensively to develop groundbreaking concepts, supported by a fantastic lineup of coaches. As part of the jury, alongside Hans Mahr Steven Moran and Rhys Nölke I had the privilege of seeing these ideas come to life and being part of the exciting decision process. Two teams particularly stood out for their creativity and adaptability: 🏆 Best Business Model – "Amplify": This app aims to revolutionize how artists manage their contracts, providing a much-needed solution in the creative industry. “Amplify" has the potential to disrupt the current system, and we can’t wait to see this team pitch at future Bertelsmann events. 🚀 🏆 Best Learning Curve – "Family Hero": This team impressed us with their ability to pivot their concept after collecting real-world user feedback. "Family Hero" is a connected app that brings families together through activities, and their willingness to embrace change was a perfect example of innovation in action. I had the honor of presenting this award! 👏 A huge thank you to Joachim Klocke Jennifer Meindel Laura Echterhoff and the whole team at Bertelsmann University for organizing such an inspiring event, and to the dedicated coaches who helped guide the teams through the bootcamp. It’s been a truly inspiring experience, and I’m excited to see what’s next for these projects! 🙌👏 #Creativity #Innovation #Bertelsmann #Bootcamp #Amplify #FamilyHero #BertelsmannUniversity #DisruptiveInnovation #LearningCurve #Berlin

"Mindfulness means being present in the moment” – I have heard this sentence many times. But only now do I fully understand what “being present” actually means: becoming thoroughly aware of what is happening within your mind and body as well as in the external environment – all with an attitude of curiosity, openness, and acceptance. This awareness prevents us from pure limbic reactivity and provides us with the freedom to actively choose our reactions in challenging situations. Last week, Bertelsmann University hosted another great session of ‘BeReady – the digital series for Top Executives’ at Bertelsmann. BeReady moderator, Jim Dowd, former Senior Fellow at Harvard Business School, welcomed our guest speaker Peter Bostelmann, Chief Mindfulness Officer at SAP. Peter has been a pioneer in integrating mindfulness into corporate culture, demonstrating its transformative impact on both individual and organizational levels. Among many other interesting learnings, Peter provided us with scientific research showing how regular mindfulness practices not only modulate the structures of our brain but also directly impact our ability to make complex decisions and boost creativity and problem-solving. Thank you, Peter, for this eye-opening and truly mindful session! #BertelsmannUniversity #BeReady #Mindfulness #Leadership #ExecutiveLearning #OrganizationalCulture #WorkplaceWellbeing #Innovation

𝐖𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫'𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 This week, we conclude our anual "Managing Strategy for Action" Program at Harvard Business School with some truly memorable moments. 1. Our 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫, 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐤, joined us to discuss the current state and future of Bertelsmann, adding invaluable insights for our participants. 2. During one case discussion, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 featured in the case joined us virtually, providing a unique opportunity to engage with her directly and discuss questions and ideas. 3. In a remarkable display of commitment, one of our professors, Andy Wu, stepped in at the last minute for a colleague who fell ill—on the same day he got married—and even brought 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐞 to class! This was a first even for Bharat Anand, Jim Dowd and Steven Moran, who have been running the program with Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA for many years! Thank you, Andy! We loved to have you and your wife in our program! While these extraordinary encounters made the program memorable, the core of our Bertelsmann University program lies in the learning experience—with the professors and our fellow colleagues. We had 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨𝐩-𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬 on topics such as AI, Ambidextrous Leadership, Structured Empowerment, Organizational Adaption or Compassionate Candor. The sessions were a perfect blend of deep knowledge and practical tools and frameworks, leaving everyone inspired and eager to apply these learnings in their respective roles. Every time, I find that the program thrives not only on the exceptional content and professors but also on the 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬. The opportunity to connect with these outstanding colleagues across Bertelsmann is always inspiring—not just for the participants but for me personally as well. Programs like these are often the start of a friendship and sometimes even spark ideas of cross-divisional collaboration and innovation. As we return from this Bertelsmann University Program, let's share and apply our new learnings to drive our businesses forward!

it's about people - CHRO & Group General Counsel @Arvato Systems

Staying ahead in the ever-evolving IT landscape & world of HR & Legal is hard - it means constantly learning 🎓 and adapting. 📚✨ I know it’s challenging to carve out time for learning amidst the hustle of work 📅 and personal life. But nurturing my curiosity 🔎 and understanding how things work 💡is crucial to me. Overcoming the “Performance Paradox” is essential for organizations striving to build and maintain high-performing teams. We’re often so focused on delivering results 📈 that we neglect the growth opportunities in the learning zone and we miss valuable opportunities to enhance our brainpower 🧠. Yet, it’s this learning that empowers us to reach new heights and stay future-proof. (Shoutout to Eduardo Briceño for his insights). So, fostering the "Learning Mindset" in an organization is crucial for its survical. Learning new things also broadens my personal perspective and helps me to: (𝟏) 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 (𝟐) 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (HR & Legal need to understand the business) (𝟑) 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐞, 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨-𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 Recently, I completed the Harvard Business School Data Science Principles Course, gaining insights into how algorithms work and data analysis pitfalls. Additionally, I’ve delved into AI in HR and strategic negotiation courses in 2024. I’m incredibly grateful for the extensive learning opportunities provided by Bertelsmann University and Arvato Systems. The breadth and depth of available resources are truly remarkable! (One of the many perks of working at Arvato Systems) I encourage my management colleagues to act visibly as role models 🔝 on adapting new skills and competencies and thriving in the Learning Zone! Even if it means, that you "suck at something new". Take it as a "walk the talk" opportunity as a leader and encourage your teams, to do the same! Be bold. Be brave. Keep evolving! What was you last learning activity? #LifelongLearning #GrowthMindset #PerformanceParadox #Curiosity #ItsAboutPeople
