We are always grateful to have United Way of the CSRA as a community partner, but never more so than on a day like today. Volunteers from United Way stopped by our Hebbard Club this morning to help us clean out our retaining pond, and just look at the transformation! Even on a beautiful day like today, this is messy, grueling work, and it truly demonstrates a heartfelt commitment to the community and to the over 180 kids we serve at this club daily. From us, and from the kids, thank you! ❤️ #BGCA #bgcga #unitedway #GreatFutures #WhateverItTakes

Today we honored someone special. Brad Kyzer has been a friend, a mentor, a donor, and a board member for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta for decades, and it was our privilege today to honor him in recognition of his legacy of dedication and service, creating thousands of Great Futures in Augusta and beyond. We are proud to announce the naming of the Brad Kyzer Sports Complex at our E.W. Hagler Club in recognition of his personal love for sports and his desire to share that love with every child who walks through our doors. Last Thursday, we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Boys & Girls Club of McDuffie County! We are so proud of our Thomson site and the 25 years of incredible impact it has had on that community, and we are thankful for the alumni, guests, supporters, volunteers, and youth who came out to celebrate this incredible milestone and share their memories of the club. We are also thankful for each and every person who has contributed their time, effort, and resources to help the Clubs reach kids in the Thomson area. Brad Kyzer is our hero. Brad has served on our Board of Directors for more than 30 years fighting for kids in Augusta, leading the way for our organization to become the bright light it is today for so many in our community. He is now in the fight of his life as he faces a devastating diagnosis, Glioblastoma. Last week, Augusta Aviation honored Brad for his life of service to the aviation industry, including introducing so many young people to this world they had never known. It was wonderful to witness him stand and receive the recognition he so deserves (and hates). Brad founded our Aviation Academy, where we teach kids about the industry, introduce them to all related career paths, and ultimately help them take their first flight in the cockpit. Please join us in praying for our Hero, Leader, Servant, and Friend, Brad Kyzer (and family).

This week, our Club members attended the Summit for America's Youth (SAY) in Washington D.C. SAY is the premier youth advocacy event where Club youth, alongside their adult mentors, have the opportunity to experience our Nation’s capital and share their stories with members of Congress while also receiving in-depth trainings and resources. At this event youth advocates use their voices to make a difference in the world around them. Our Club Member, Zyani had the honor of being interviewed by NBC News about the event!
