“I don't have any business challenges”... This had to be a joke, right? On a customer call last week… I asked this advisor what core challenges his business had. “I don’t have any.” Really? What about all that market volatility a few weeks ago? “Well, I got a couple of referrals” Now, that’s the dream for most advisors. He continued… “Our clients get all our automated updates. (Powered by Blueleaf) So if they reach out, it’s usually to tell us something has changed and our email reminded them to talk to us. Or simply to refer us to a new client” The last thing he said… “You’ve given me the easiest 10 years I’ve had in the business. Thank you.” Wow. That is the power of our automated reporting and client communication. Even when the markets are unpredictable… Your clients are calm, and happy, and know you’re working hard for them. As a founder, I couldn’t ask for more. DM me or reach out to my team if you’d like to make your next 10 years your easiest. When was the last time you felt like your business had no big challenges? PS "The best way to serve your clients is to solve their problems before they even realize they have them." - Unknown

"We were able to give her a brand new job And this one actually adds value to our clients" I heard that just last week from a customer who was less than 2 months into working with us. They thought their support person was spending a few days a month on reporting. And a few days a quarter on billing. But as it turned out… Almost half of their time was spent running a complex “market-leading” system. They were a glorified internal support… …helping other staff and advisors do things they couldn't figure out. But after their 45-minute initial training with us, everyone could operate on their own. And all that time doing billing and reporting for the firm... Down to a few hours a month. This isn’t a unique problem, we see it time and time again. Advisors wanting to get back to serving clients… But finding it impossible—because they have to fight their own business and technology. And that’s one of the reasons I started Blueleaf. To streamline your business so you can get back to helping clients. You can learn more about Blueleaf by clicking the link on my profile. But my question to you today… What is the number 1 problem stopping you from getting back to helping clients?

Silence... That is what your clients experience most of the time. You meet with them but then they focus on other things. They are on your newsletter list but only open it sometimes. You are connected to a few on social media but even fewer see your posts. You worry they don't really appreciate what you do for them but hope the work will "speak for itself" The only thing that's ever "worked" has been to talk 1:1 but you're stretched thin and feel drowned out. You have felt this way for years but it is getting worse. There is a way to fill the silence, deliver more value to clients and be seen as the huge source of value you are. Communicate more. - More from you - More from your team - More from your company Here are the 4 steps: - Repurpose marketing - Make your services "noisy" - Automated, personal updates - Continue your traditional processes Want help? Talk to us. How are you making sure your clients see and appreciate you?

"I just want to help my clients but... Running the business keeps getting in the way." I was stunned. I'd been on a series of calls with clients and I'd heard a lot of their challenges. Sure, understanding advisor's problems is part of my job at Blueleaf. But this was the first time I felt like I understood. He was so clear and so raw… You could feel his pain. Then he said: "That was how it was before. It's why we work with you. Blueleaf simplified so much of what we were doing that we are able to spend TONS more time helping clients now." Wow. That felt so good to hear. It's the reason I started Blueleaf. To help advisors spend more time serving clients. And less time on the horrible, time-consuming parts everyone hates. There is no reason to wait. Let's talk so we can help you get back to doing what you love.

"They did what...WTF" That was my thought as I got the first text. Last Saturday morning my team let me know that one of the custodians we partner with was late with their data. They sent an email with NO ETA for a fix. That's Mission-Critical. Our customers depend on us for their data and the reporting that's built on it. So we pulled our on-call team together and went to work. We talked with customers and our partner and tuned the system to process millions of accounts FAST. The data trickled in and we began processing. BUT the data format they began sending was wrong. We needed new files from our partner or we needed to manually fix them. The manual route was faster so we started running repair scripts and adding extra checks. We worked all day and into Saturday evening. My role: support the team and coordinate the effort. As the credits rolled for the latest Deadpool, I received the last team text. All-clear. That is the unsexy reality of running a business. You can't always switch off. Even with teams in place, sometimes things go sideways and require your attention. But that is the price of delivering for customers and building something you're proud of. I'm proud of my team, the system we've built and what we deliver for customers. And I wouldn't have it any other way. – Have you seen the new Deadpool yet? Because I missed most of it…

Want to know how to improve your service or product? Innovation is easier than you think… Ask your customers the RIGHT questions. See, if you just ask them "what they want" ↳ You will NEVER innovate, ever. You might make tiny improvements to what you already have and sometimes that's ok. But it will never lead to a real breakthrough. As a product person, I learned early what a trap it is to build exactly what you’re asked for. Because if you build what they ask for you build "Faster horses, not cars" So what do you do instead? → Get on a call and ask your customers → What are they struggling with? → What are their problems? Then ask WHY those are problems. You'll begin to see patterns after 10-30 conversations. ↳ Take that back to your team and create solutions. Now you're working on unsolved problems for those customers. You’ll be surprised at how much more insight you’ll have compared to competitors. They almost all skip over this stuff. Last week I personally spoke to 10 of our customers. And they gave me 5 different areas of concern for their businesses. The next 20 conversations will help us rank the problems. And helps us know what to build next. So how do you learn from your clients? ______ ♻️ Save and repost if this helped or inspired 🔔 Follow me, John Prendergast for more Or if you're a wealth manager, Find out how Blueleaf Wealth can help you.

She said "The way you communicate with clients is self-centered" I couldn't believe she said it but she was right. → I was listening in on one of our → Long-time customers talking to → Someone in a mastermind group. She has a big, fast-growing practice and was sharing about how she did it. She said "As an advisor, we're often taught to focus on the big moments: ↳ Tax time ↳ Plan reviews ↳ Annual meetings ↳ Quarterly reporting" "Those are YOUR MOMENTS. Not your client's." "That is just when YOU want or need to talk to them." → "Their lives happen → 365 days of the year, not just → When you plan to speak with them." Then she said that in between the big moments, clients are often: ↳ Frightened by the media. ↳ Nervous about the markets. ↳ Thinking they missed something." "You have to connect more in THEIR MOMENTS" She recommended her communication mix: Weekly ↳ Automated financial update. ↳ Simple problem/solution content Monthly or as needed ↳ Personal service updates - what her team specifically did. ↳ Quarterly reports, annual reviews, and other touchpoints. "That's what grew my practice. It will grow yours too" She said it was because frequent, personalized communication resulted in: ↳ Predictable referrals ↳ Deeper client relationships ↳ Increased client satisfaction and trust ↳ Enhanced client engagement and adherence to financial plans And with automation, it was actually LESS WORK. "Engagement breeds understanding and trust." It worked for her and it can transform your practice too. What surprising lessons have you learned about client engagement? ______ Blueleaf Wealth can help deliver this kind of engagement, Just like we've helped her for the last decade. Sometimes your values cost you... But they help someone else. I've learned that the hard way. The cost? Our values at Blueleaf mean that: → We charge 30-50% less than our main competitors. → Despite having a beautiful product and a → Measurably better client experience. It's not that we believe in being the least expensive. But At my company: → We believe that everyone deserves great financial advice. → We believe that means holistic advice → Including every account → No matter where it is. So → If we charged customers for every account like competitors, → We would be incenting them to leave accounts out. → We'd be incenting narrow advice. Instead, we put our money where our values are. We charge per client household, no matter how many accounts. ↳ And since most clients have lots of accounts, it works out to be less. We could raise our per-client price like our competitors did recently But that would go against another of our values: fairness. How have your values cost you? At Blueleaf Wealth we deliver More than we promise. Every day. Better Reporting. Better Client Experience. For 30-50% less than comparable solutions.
