It’s incredible how many times we’ve heard “I don’t know” when we’ve asked orgs and companies with financial wellness initiatives about the impact they’re making. 📢 Financial wellness without measurable impact is just checking a box. It’s nothing more than a hot topic, a buzzword. That’s the opposite of what we want at Bolder. We’ve seen it all - literacy, courses, workshops, conferences, books, a one-off session with a “coach”. Gathering to talk about women and money. Sharing awareness of the gaps that exist. Without tangible action steps, accountability, and emotional support for long-lasting, significant behavior change, it’s not enough. What we know is enough: 👇 1:1 personalized financial guidance delivered via chat with a dedicated coach in an ongoing relationship. An accessible way to close the wealth gap. In minutes a week, those whose needs are not met by current “financial wellness” offerings are served on a deeper level, focusing on financial confidence as more important than financial literacy. Savings rates double and triple for our members, and we’ve helped them pay down hundreds of thousands of debt. So if you can’t confidently say that your financial wellness initiative is actually working, it’s time to find something that does. Otherwise… what’s the point?

If you don’t know what it’s like to feel afraid to look at your bank accounts, consider yourself lucky. While 77% of Americans are stressed about their finances, 43% say they’re scared to face their numbers. Real conversation today 👇 “Can someone on your team sit with me and help me look at my bank accounts and spending? I can’t do it on my own.” Me: “Of COURSE we can. Of course we understand. No it’s not silly to feel afraid, many people are, and once you get past this hurdle, you’ll be able to start taking steps on your own. We’ll help you build the confidence to do it. It won’t always feel this way.” 👆Words I would have loved to hear in my 20s, that I now say to women of all ages. Bolder Money

It’s not just about more money for women - it’s about compassionate guidance in times we’re usually left to navigate alone. As I enter new life phases, I’m always grateful that I can message any of my team members (who are brilliant, caring financial coaches) at any time to ask what should I do now? Where do I go from here? When I see our clients doing this, it warms my heart. Lost loved ones, new babies, ending relationships, aging parents, so much more. There are financial implications no one talks about - so we will. For anyone with adverse experiences around money (especially women, who have not seen themselves represented in financial services and experts), having a thoughtful money guide just a text away can significantly improve financial outcomes and overall wellbeing. In interviewing members recently, I’ve been told that they choose their coach based on whose face looks “kindest” to them, and who seems to be most likely to understand their personal situation. 👀 It takes a village. In 2017, I almost died in childbirth. I suffered through PTSD and PPD for most of my son’s baby and toddler years. When he was 18 months old, I was desperate to spend more time with him, and burnt out from just surviving as a new mom, but hadn’t prepared financially to take a break from work. I was also told by one of my managers that moms who worked part time were always the first to be laid off. So, I emptied my 401k, and I quit. I made this decision alone. I figured out how to come up with the money to spend more time with my son alone. I felt scared, embarrassed, and traumatized, in addition to the weight of my loneliness - and those feelings drove all of my financial decisions. Because of my experience, I want to make sure as many women as possible have access to the compassionate financial guidance I desperately needed back then. I like to think about how one of our Bolder Money Coaches would have helped me. She would have told me she understands what I’ve been through, and how badly I want more time with my son. She would have helped me weigh all my options, and talk through the pros and cons of each. She would have gently pointed out where my emotions were driving, and what to consider as I make choices. And most importantly, she would have made sure I knew I wasn’t alone. No one should have to navigate money alone, especially during a difficult time. At Bolder Money, we’re making judgement-free financial guidance accessible to everyone. Get a money guide for your journey, wherever you are.  👉🏼Join us: www.boldermoney.com Pictured: Me and Jake, 2 weeks old
