Welcoming Elissa Gretz Friedman to Elektra's clinical team! Dr. Friedman is a board-certified OB/GYN and The Menopause Society-Certified Practitioner. Her considerable experience in menopause care includes over 20 years of practice at Mount Sinai Health System, where she was the head of the Menopause Center of New York and where she started a menopause clinic for resident training. Dr. Friedman's prior experience also includes patient care in private practice and leadership of benign gynecology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She has published several journal articles on the topic of menopause and a book chapter on hot flashes. She earned her BA in Biology from Vassar College and MD from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, followed by an OB/GYN residency at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. In her free time, Dr. Friedman enjoys drawing and painting. She loves to travel, especially when she gets to golf wherever she goes, and you can also find her out on the paddleboard with her rescue dog Charley.
