As the mechanical contractor for microgrid construction at John F. Kennedy International Airport's New Terminal One, we're over the moon that construction on this project component recently launched. Soon, the cable raceways currently being installed will connect the largest rooftop solar array in New York City - and on any U.S. airport terminal - to the electrical house. Avoiding injuries on construction sites remains a significant challenge, but at BOND Civil & Utility, we're leveraging technology to address it head-on.    Through our partnership with Pixaera, we’ve integrated cutting-edge virtual reality into our safety training program. This innovative approach allows our teams to experience high-risk scenarios in a safe, controlled environment—what we call a "safe way of failing."    Thanks to the leadership of Christopher McCarthy, Heather Jameson, and the entire BOND safety team, over 400 employees have already trained with VR, enhancing their ability to respond to real-world hazards on the job site. Next up to be featured in our #CraftedByBOND series is one of BOND Civil & Utility's Trenchless experts, Rolando Salinas! Rolando, a Trenchless Mechanic with more than 30 years of experience, has become one of our “go-to's” when it comes to repairing and maintaining construction equipment. But what Rolando's most proud of isn't a specific project or trade – it's his family. With his wife by his side, he's raised four amazing children. Now, that's an accomplishment worth celebrating! When Rolando's not working his magic on our equipment, you can probably find him in his garage, tinkering away on some machining project or enjoying some quality time outdoors – fishing or hunting are his favorite ways to unwind. We're thankful for the expertise and guidance Rolando brings to our BOND Civil & Utility team!

Meet Carlos Sousa, the next feature of our @CraftedByBOND series! Currently located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Carlos has 25 years of construction experience under his belt, spending the last 11 years with the BOND Civil & Utility team. Safety and quality are his top priorities, ensuring a secure work environment and exceptional results for our clients. What does Carlos enjoy the most? Working alongside our team members! He thrives on guiding individuals to become foremen, witnessing their growth, and celebrating the well-deserved retirements of his colleagues. Outside of work, Carlos loves catching live local bands. But his greatest accomplishment is raising his two daughters with his wife, watching them blossom into strong, intelligent women. Introducing Assistant Superintendent Kyle Molnar for our next #CraftedByBOND spotlight! The New England native from Portland, Connecticut, brings ten years of experience as a construction and survey expert, spending the last six years of his career at BOND! Kyle thrives on the fulfillment of managing a successful project, overseeing every detail from inception to execution. He keeps things fresh by tackling projects with meticulous planning, ensuring everything runs smoothly. When Kyle isn't on a job site, you might find him hitting the greens for a round of golf, carving some turns on the slopes, or strategizing his next move during a chess match. We're so lucky to have you, Kyle! Thank you for all you do for the BOND team.  

Entering the spotlight in our #CraftedByBOND series is Dave Ellis! Dave is a Resource Manager and Superintendent from Port Jefferson, New York. With over 22 years of industry experience, he excels in overseeing gas distribution crews and supports other project teams by managing equipment, manpower, and daily operations. The supportive leadership and flexibility of BOND Civil & Utility are two things that Dave values.  Outside of work, his favorite place to be is with his two beautiful children.
