Exciting news from Book Harvest! We just celebrated the grand reopening of our expanded Family Space, Volunteer Center, and National Headquarters in Durham. Volunteering has always been a core activity for me. As a solopreneur, it can be hard to stop the hustle for a minute and take time to volunteer in the community. Activate Good’s mission has always been near and dear to me. I was fortunate to volunteer as a project manager for them a few years ago and see how the magic happens behind a big volunteer event. Refining Workflow LLC was a proud sponsor of Activate Good’s 9/11 Day of Service this year. Thank you to Dr. Sarah Glova, Sydney Jarrett Williams, MS, PMP, MBA, Stephanie Simon, and Anna Kirkland Smith who joined my “team” today and volunteered alongside of me. From building literacy kits for new parents and their babies at Book Harvest to cutting ribbons to be used in a Marbles Kids Museum exhibit - the day was full of making a small difference for multiple communities. I was inspired in many ways today and look forward to continuing to make time for volunteering in the community going forward. I love Book Harvest. My child graduated from their Book Babies program, I am a former Board member and a current Family Leadership Council member. I've been involved in many conversations around how to best serve all families in Durham and have seen the heart and passion the staff, Founder/CEO and Executive Director puts into the work. It was such an honor to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday as they unveiled the new family and work space. So happy to see the tremendous growth of Book Harvest! Always good to see old friends and meet people OFF of the zoom screen. Congratulations Ginger Young and Book Harvest! Much more success to come! P.S.
