About us

Boomitra works with farmers and ranchers worldwide to increase soil carbon through improved agricultural practices and generate internationally certified carbon removal credits. We use proprietary AI and satellite technology to monitor, report, and verify (MRV) soil organic carbon to a 30cm+ depth, without physical soil sampling, reducing measurement costs by 99%. The process is cost-efficient, time effective, and scalable across various landholding sizes – enabling Boomitra to work globally: 5M+ acres, 150,000+ farmers, 4 continents, millions of credits sold to date. Boomitra sells the carbon credits to corporations and governments worldwide, enabling them to meet their sustainability goals. Farmers and landowners earn the vast majority of proceeds from each carbon credit sold, allowing them to re-invest in their farms and local communities. Boomitra means “Friend of the Earth” in Sanskrit. That is who we are and hope to inspire others to be. Learn more at boomitra.com

  • Last Friday, Boomitra had the honor of hosting a delegation from the National Climate Change Secretariat, Singapore (NCCS) at the Boomitra headquarters in San Mateo. The visit was led by Joel Tee, Director at NCCS, and coordinated by Ji Inn Wong, Regional Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). Our CEO Aadith Moorthy and COO Satya Satyamoorthy had insightful discussions with them on how soil carbon solutions can drive climate resilience, support sustainable agriculture, and contribute to Singapore’s bold climate ambitions. As global leaders take action to reduce emissions and enhance carbon sequestration, partnerships like these are what will allow us to achieve gigaton-scale solutions. Thank you to the NCCS and EDB teams for your engagement—let's keep moving the needle on climate change!

  • It’s #TeamMemberSpotlight time! Meet Vadiraj S.B., Boomitra’s Partner Relationship Lead in India. 🌾 Vadiraj was born in Hubli and now resides in Bangalore, India. With a deep appreciation for agriculture, he has dedicated his career to building strong partnerships that support sustainable farming. ⭐ His journey with smallholder farmers vis-a-vis agriculture started 12 years back with Global Green Company. This experience gave him firsthand insight into farming challenges and the importance of soil health in boosting productivity and resilience. 🌱 As Boomitra’s Partner Relationship Lead in India, Vadiraj plays a crucial role in managing and developing strategic partnerships. He works closely with partners, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective project execution, ultimately helping farmers benefit from Boomitra’s projects and tech. 💡 His favorite fact? Soil carbon levels directly impact soil health, influencing fertility, water retention, and long-term productivity. Through sustainable practices, farmers can enhance their land’s resilience while contributing to global carbon sequestration efforts. Saturday was International Women’s Day, and we highlighted some of the amazing women on our team. Boomitra also supports women farmers and ranchers, from Argentina to Kenya. Take a look at our on-the-ground impact at Seema Rani’s farm in India in this video from CNA. Providing a vertically-integrated ecosystem of farmer support, Boomitra and our local implementation partner Pragmatix Research and Advisory Services are able to drive impact at the intersection of climate action, land restoration, and farmer livelihoods. • Boomitra’s grassland projects help ranchers switch to regenerative practices like rotational grazing. This switch improves soil health, carbon sequestration, and productivity. How does it work? Through photosynthesis, plants pull carbon from the air and store it in the soil. After cattle intensively graze a paddock and are moved to the next, grasses regrow with deeper roots, storing even more carbon. Plus, the cows' hooves aerate the soil, reducing compaction and improving water absorption. Healthier soil = more resilient grasslands, thriving ranchers, and a cooler planet. • Earlier this month, we announced that our flagship project in Northern Mexico was Verra registered—an industry-shaping accomplishment since this was the first project under VM0042 to use remote sensing for soil carbon measurement.  👇 Sequestering carbon in soil can be hard to imagine. Check out some project photos to see what our work looks like on-the-ground. Learn more about registration & our Grassland Restoration in Northern Mexico project: https://lnkd.in/gjkHWrvb

  • The world’s soils are degrading at an alarming rate (soil is being eroded 10-40 times faster than its natural replenishment rate!). We need more than sustainability to fix this problem. We need #regeneration. Regeneration restores soils, ensuring that our stewardship makes them healthier—and more productive. Thanks United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification for the graphic!
