Groundbreaking: New Pender County K-8 School! Yesterday, we celebrated the start of construction for Pender County Schools' newest project! The MS wing has classrooms for music, dance/drama, art, health, and a STEM lab! Additionally, the site will provide parking, bus parking, onsite queuing, an ES/MS courtyard, multipurpose field, baseball/softball field, and playground. Thank you to New England Lab for hosting Bordeaux Construction and Hanbury for a Lunch & Learn yesterday! Our three companies have worked together on many laboratory projects, and enjoyed getting an inside-scoop on their side of the industry. While we ate, we heard from Marc Pizzo about how their company is addressing the needs of the Triangle Area's growing population. We heard about NEL's innovative designs, and even got to tour the showroom and warehouse! Thank you, New England Lab for hosting. We look forward to continuing our partnership! 🔹 Bordeaux Construction 🔹 New England Lab 🔹 Hanbury

Grand Opening: Tar Heel PK-8 School! Last week, we were honored to attend the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting celebration at Bladen County’s newest and most innovative school: Tar Heel PK-8. The close-knit ties of the Tar Heel community were felt throughout, with over 100 people gathering to celebrate on Friday morning. Tar Heel PK-8 School is the first of its kind – in the world – to feature a two-way solar powering system. The new school is equipped with over 1,600 solar panels and five electric buses, which were awarded to Bladen. The buses are charged by the solar panels on the school! After dropping off the students at the beginning of a school day, the electric buses will plug into the school’s charging stations. The leftover power from the buses will help the school building during peak morning power demands. Throughout the day, the solar panels will charge the buses, so that they are ready to bring students home at dismissal. Our team’s Project Manager, Alex Herndon, and Field Superintendent, Ben Brisson, have been instrumental in providing guidance, forethought, and coordination throughout the process. Their leadership has ensured that the project was delivered with the highest standard of quality. Bordeaux Construction is proud to have helped make this dream a reality, and we look forward to standing alongside the Tar Heel community as we watch how their new school impacts generations to come. Congratulations, all!

Safety at the Site: Pender County ABC Today, we hosted a Bordeaux Safety Orientation at the Pender County ABC jobsite in Burgaw, NC. Led by Scotty Edwards, our Safety Director, and Bobby Strickland, Field Superintendent, new workers learned about required personal protective equipment (PPE), Fall Protection policies, and how to effectively utilize the site’s iPad to complete daily Safety Forms. To our Safety Director, Scotty Edwards, “safety” is more than just a priority at the jobsites. Scotty’s mission is to ensure that everyone who steps foot on one of our projects will go home at the end the day, able to make memories with their families and loved ones. And if anyone, at any of our sites, ever needs a refresher, the “Safety Scotty” sign will always be there to greet them at the entrance.
