This fall, the Age Strong Commission is conducting a needs assessment to learn more about the needs, concerns, and priorities of Boston’s older adults. The goal is to create an Age Strong Plan which aims to make Boston inclusive and accessible to people of all ages. This is a valuable opportunity to let your voice be heard! As caregivers to Boston's older adults, we know you have great insight about ways to improve aging in our city and we want to hear your ideas about how we can make Boston a better place to age. Your responses are confidential, and your input is invaluable! Take the assessment here: https://lnkd.in/emZDYTvt For more information on this project, or to view the survey in more languages, you can visit the Age Strong Commission's webpage here: https://lnkd.in/eM9G8TkF For any questions about the Needs Assessment process, please email bostonaaa@boston.gov or call Ava Portela at 617-635-1953. Remembering Patricia A. Lynch: A Champion for Change We reflect on the lasting impact of Patricia A. Lynch, Boston Senior Home Care board member, lobbyist, and champion of mental health and substance use legislation, who passed away in July. Her absence leaves a void, yet her legacy continues to inspire and guide us. To honor her remarkable dedication to our community, we are proud to unveil the Patricia A. Lynch Excellence in Public Service Award. This prestigious award will be presented at Boston Senior Home Care's 50th Anniversary Gala on October 17th at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston. In a fitting tribute, Leader Kate Hogan will present the inaugural award, celebrating Patricia's extraordinary life and work. Throughout her illustrious career spanning over three decades, Patricia stood as a beacon of leadership in government, law, and advocacy. As a driving force at Lynch & Fierro LLP, she spearheaded crucial legislation, including the groundbreaking Health Care Reform Act and the transformative Children's Health Care Access Act. Her journey, marked by roles as a legislative aide, health policy advisor, and General Counsel for the Executive Office of Consumer Affairs, showcased her versatility and dedication. Patricia's dedication to public service extended well beyond the realm of legislation. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she committed her time and expertise to serving on the board of Boston Senior Home Care. Through this role, she continued to make meaningful contributions to support older adults and individuals with disabilities, further exemplifying her lifelong commitment to improving the lives of others. While our gala has reached capacity, we invite you to support our mission through a donation by visiting https://lnkd.in/exYwCgkn. Your contribution will help us continue providing essential services and supports to older adults, people with disabilities and their caregivers. #community #boston #olderadults #fundraiser #BostonEvents #nonprofit
