We recently participated in the AfDB Transport Forum in Abidjan, alongside government officials from across the continent, representatives from AfDB, DFIs, the African Union, and the private sector. Erica Brandt, who represented B2P, co-presented with George Makajuma from AfDB, highlighting our partnership in Uganda as well as the cost-effectiveness and impact of investing in networked connectivity for rural populations. B2P was also mentioned in a parallel session on innovative financing mechanisms for transport projects. This conference presented an excellent opportunity to connect with leaders in the transport sector, with many exciting follow-ups ahead. B2P appreciates AfDB leadership for our inclusion in the Forum.

Had a great experience presenting at the African Development Bank Group Transport Forum in Abidjan last week alongside my colleague George Makajuma from AfDB. Our presentation focused on how impactful, cost-effective, and sustainable it can be to invest in rural transport networks. We showcased innovations in the sector, as well as the successful partnership between Bridges to Prosperity and AfDB in Uganda which implemented low-cost, high-impact interventions to enhance connectivity in the areas surrounding a regional corridor road project. Thanks to the African Development Bank Group for shedding light on this crucial topic! #atf2024
