What an incredible night dressing up for a great cause and enjoying a special night in celebration of @jharden13 birthday and, most importantly, his @impactthirteen Foundation. Words and pictures can’t fully capture the profound emotions experienced when witnessing the power of people coming together to help one another. It’s a powerful reminder that we all have it within us to spread our wings and make a difference in a stranger’s life. Every person, no matter where they come from or what they have, carries the ability to impact the world in a meaningful way. When we unite for a cause greater than ourselves, we tap into an extraordinary potential to bring about change. It’s not just the grand gestures, but the small, everyday acts of kindness that ripple out and create waves of positive impact. This night was a beautiful reminder that, together, we can truly make a difference. It is a true honor to have been invited just a few months ago to collaborate with James Harden and his Impact 13 Foundation. This marks our second event together, which took place at Key Middle School. The Impact 13 Foundation is dedicated to empowering historically underserved communities by providing the essential tools and resources necessary for self-improvement and lasting change. A special highlight of this event was the generous contribution from Houston Random Acts of Kindness which donated a “Rak Room” to the school. This incentive-based store is designed to motivate and reward students for their positive behavior and academic achievements. It’s an incredible initiative that aligns perfectly with our shared mission to uplift and support the community by providing opportunities for growth and success. At the core of Impact 13’s initiatives is an unwavering commitment to unlocking potential. By embracing their vision to engage, empower, and uplift, they aim to be a global beacon of hope and compassion. We are incredibly proud to be part of this movement, working alongside them to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. As many of you know, Brothers Produce is a Houston-based brand with 45 years of deeply rooted history in serving and giving back to the community. Through this partnership, we are deeply committed to expanding these efforts beyond just Houston. We are privileged to work with James and Impact 13 to bring more nutrition, education, fresh food, support, and additional resources to this program, with the goal of positively impacting even more families. Lastly, we want to extend our deepest thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors who make this possible. Your help and support are what make all of this achievable, and we are grateful for your dedication. Together, we are building a stronger, more compassionate community.

Yesterday, Brothers Produce had the honor of assisting Justin Allen and his organization by providing fresh fruit at his camp. Thanks to his team and volunteers for putting together this amazing event.

Not all heroes wear capes. This week, and every day around the world, the power that fuels our lives, businesses, food, and medical supplies is crucial. When power outages occur, linemen are called in from across the country, often traveling hundreds of miles to restore our lives to normal. A big thank you to Scott Gordan and Cole Gordan Helping Hand Foundation for serving over 1,500 linemen, first responders, and residents without power yesterday in Alvin. We were grateful to be a part of this effort, showing our gratitude to those helping and assisting those in need during this recovery time. In the face of what Texas and several other places are currently going through, these heroes work tirelessly to get us back on our feet. If you see a lineman out today, take a moment to thank them. Their dedication and hard work are helping us all restore normalcy.

The Texas Association for School Nutrition (TASN) is committed to supporting and advancing school nutrition professionals and programs throughout Texas. Established in 1954, TASN boasts over 5,100 members and ranks among the largest state school nutrition associations nationwide. TASN empowers its members with professional development, resources, and advocacy, fostering skill enhancement, awareness of best practices, and effective nutrition services for students. Through events, certifications, and advocacy efforts, TASN builds a strong network that strengthens the impact of school nutrition professionals across the K-12 spectrum.
