As government landscape changes impact the shifting ripples in the market, many leaders are faced with the opportunity to respond. The two extremes of either keeping our head down to go through the motions vs throwing out our strategic plans out all together are NOT in our best interest. In moments of change we won't be lost in the waves when we hold onto our anchors. And when we anchor ourselves and our teams in our values and vision, we are well prepared to make the shifts needed to respond to the challenges and see the opportunities ahead. According to a Forbes article by Paola Cecchi-Dimeglio, "The success of a business strategy cannot be overstated. It is rooted in meticulous planning, ensuring the strategy is adaptable and actionable." At BFM we've learned how to find solid ground when situations change, and what continues to ground us is our core values, one of which is collaboration and relationship building. In the midst of this season of adjustments, we make it a priority to check in on our clients who are facing a wide array of challenges to deepen our understanding of their needs and build trusting relationships that evolve into partnerships. These deeper partnerships often produce strong results in our work. How do you ensure your values are integrated to your strategy and plans? What practices have you found helpful? For more guidance on creating an effective strategic plan, read the Forbes article below. #StrategicPlanning #AnnualPlanning #GoalSetting #StrategicGoals #CoreValues https://lnkd.in/epYZcmvu

One major obstacle to making making sure your strategic plan is adaptable to changes in the market, is not having a clear vision of your end-goal and determining whether or not you are on a successful track. As you outline your impact in 2025 a great tool to use is the #SMARTIE method organized by the The Management Center. Last month we shared how helpful this tool can be with team goals. Similarly, they can help you identify crucial points for your organization's goals: Are they SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ACHIEVABLE, REALISTIC, TIME-BOUND, INCLUSIVE, and EQUITABLE? Jotting down the answers to these prompts can make work more enjoyable as you'll have a clear idea of what you want to achieve and ensure your work contributes to key organization goals, making for a better work experience for everyone! Share a SMARTIE goal you have for 2025 in the comments below! #StrategicPlanning #AnnualPlanning #GoalSetting #StrategicGoals #SMARTIEGoals

On this National Day of Service, let us all be re-energized to continue making an impact and to encourage ourselves when we feel the struggle of change. #HappyMLKDay #DiversityEQ #TalentEQ #LeadingChange
This month, I’ve been exploring how to anticipate, prepare for, and learn from change. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was no stranger to change—he played a key role in leading through it. His words inspire us to persist and be intentional in the midst of change. In honor of him today, I’m sharing one of his most inspiring quotes on change. Happy #MLK Day

We're starting this year with a conversation around Strategic Annual Planning, as discussed in our January newsletter, which also spotlights Oak Street Health, who kept their organization's goals in mind while implementing strategies to promote inclusive employee engagement. According to one of the team members at OSH, “I took away a range of insights that will help me be a more effective leader - both introducing new concepts and considerations and helping me mature my understanding and thinking in areas where I had existing insights." As we dive into the final months of the year, one key question often lingers: How do you ensure that your strategic or annual plan isn’t just a document that collects dust on a shelf? BFM works with our partners to ensure plans come to life by developing customized tools that clarify roles, timelines, and accountability measures. More so, we offer coaching packages for teams and individuals to clarify how they will contribute to the organization-wide plans. This can all feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. BFM can work with you at the individual, team, or organization level to identify what are your immediate and long-term goals, and then put the steps in place to make it happen. Contact us at admin@buildingformission.com, and together, we can turn your strategic vision into a living, breathing force that drives success at every level! #StrategicPlanning #GoalSetting #StrategicGoals #SMARTIEGoals

Helping team members set clear, measurable goals fosters a sense of equity. Everyone has a written goal they’re accountable for, and supervisors are equally accountable for supporting them. With this structure, people can focus on their work and know how well they’re performing. Clear goals and metrics aren’t just about productivity—they’re about creating a culture where everyone feels valued and empowered. #StrategicPlanning #GoalSetting #StrategicGoals #SMARTIEGoals

Have you ever looked at an organization's roles and responsibilities chart and wondered, 'What does that team actually do?' This common confusion can erode trust and collaboration in an organization. To avoid this, organizations should cascade strategic or annual planning from high-level priorities down to specific team goals. Every team should clearly understand how they contribute to organizational priorities. Their goals should be concise, transparent, and aligned (ideally using SMARTIE goals—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound, Inclusive, and Equitable). This clarity helps others see the value each team brings and understand when and why to engage with them. By prioritizing intentional planning, organizations foster better collaboration, inclusiveness, and a shared sense of purpose—because everyone knows how their role fits into the bigger picture. Looking for tools and strategies to streamline org-wide planning? Contact BFM, and let’s explore best practices to get started! #StrategicPlanning #GoalSetting #StrategicGoals #SMARTIEGoals
