The ice was cold, but the competition was hot at our annual holiday party this past weekend! It was an evening full of sweeping, sliding, and plenty of laughs. A big thank you to the F-M Curling Club for the curling lessons and to Spitfire Bar & Grill for warming us up with a delicious meal after the competition. Congratulations to Caleb on his recent promotion to Director of Civil Engineering! 🎉 In his new role, Caleb will lead the Civil Engineering Team at B&A, driving the successful delivery of projects that maximize return on investment, improve sustainability, and meet the evolving needs of our clients and communities. North Dakota winters are no joke, but that didn't stop our surveyor from heading out to get the job done! 🥶 Equipped with the right tools, he tackled a topographic survey despite the freezing temperatures and snow-covered terrain. We take pride in going above and beyond to deliver accurate results and keep our projects on track, no matter the challenges. A big shoutout to our team for their hard work and determination, no matter the season!

Congratulations to Katie and Natalie who both transitioned to full-time roles with B&A at the start of the year! 👏 Katie is completing her PhD in Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, specializing in Engineering Education Research, with a Mixed Methods Research Certificate. She has expertise in environmental and civil engineering and will contribute to project planning, analysis, design, and management while incorporating innovative and sustainable solutions. Natalie graduated in December from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor's in Marketing and an Entrepreneurship Certificate. She will lead efforts in proposals, social media, advertising, and event planning, while also providing administrative support. We couldn't be more excited to have Katie and Natalie onboard full-time in 2025! 🎉

Project Spotlight: Fieldhouse at Memorial Village 🏗️ Construction is moving quickly on the Fieldhouse at Memorial Village! With stunning views of UND's East Campus and unique amenities like rooftop patios and The Hawk's Perch observation deck, this five-story, mixed-use building is set to redefine campus living. The building will feature seamless connectivity to the Hyslop at Memorial Village and the University of North Dakota campus. Stay tuned as we approach the finish line in 2025! 🎉

This January, we're excited to celebrate the work anniversaries of two incredible team members, Jordan and Betsy! 🎉 Jordan, a water resources expert, specializes in watershed planning, stormwater design, and hydrologic modeling. His work spans rural flood control, urban storm sewer projects, and large-scale stormwater master planning across the region. Betsy has a Master's of Civil Engineering from UND and excels in planning and coordinating infrastructure projects. Her expertise in operational protocols, permitting, and collaboration with municipalities and rural water districts ensures seamless project delivery. Thank you, Jordan and Betsy, for your contributions to our team! 👏

Please join us in welcoming Geovana Vasconcelos to the Burian & Associates team as an Engineering Assistant in Grand Forks, ND! 🎉 Geovana earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from ENIAC University Center in Brazil. During her studies, she developed a rainwater harvesting system designed to minimize water waste. She is currently supporting various aspects of the Red River Valley Water Supply Project. We're excited to have you on the team, Geovana!

Each year, the YMCA of the Northern Sky spreads holiday cheer to families in need throughout our community. Our team had the privilege of contributing to this effort by sorting and selecting gifts for children.
