Business Interiors is proud to have worked on a recent renovation of a secure medical facility located in west-central Alabama. The facility, which first opened in 1981, cares for individuals who are in Alabama's court system but who suffer from a mental impairment or cognitive disability and are not able to fully participate in the court process. The facility underwent its first renovation in more than forty years, moving from an environment that reflected the cold, harsh aspects of a security-first building to one of treatment and care for the in-house population. As the director put it, "This is a hospital, not a jail." Business Interiors joined TRO Jung|Brannen, the architecture firm, and Design Innovations, the interior design firm, on the project as the furnishings consultant. BI was invited to participate on this team due, in large part, to our experience with other behavioral health facilities. The project scope includes a new two-story facility expansion as well as the renovation of the existing facility to house full-time patient care as well as administrative spaces. Phase 1 of the project was completed in July 2024, with Phase 2 scheduled to be completed in early 2025. 📸 art meripol See more of Business Interiors’ work at https://lnkd.in/eUUxHPSH

Our teams located in the Birmingham showroom have had the pleasure this summer of working with Cameron “CC” Hahn, our Design | Student Intern. CC is an incoming junior at the University of Alabama with the goal of one day working as a commercial interior designer. Her first couple of weeks were a jump off the deep end in learning just how many finishes, textiles, and materials are available at a designer’s fingertips… by organizing our materials library alongside our Design | Director Celia Spurrier. Since then, she has shadowed several teams here in Birmingham, joined project presentations, and rode along on site visits. Her dedication to getting the job done and her passion for interior design are evident. And, while we’re excited for her next steps, we’re sad to see her go. CC, the BI team wishes you all the best in your continuing education and in your future career. You are always welcome at BI, so come visit anytime!

This month, we recognize and applaud the work of Kim Gray, one of our talented designers. Kim is a Registered Interior Designer, and she has over twenty-five years of experience, all of it working in a Herman Miller dealership. She's a valuable resource on our Tallahassee team, and she always works hard to provide solutions to make the clients' space better than before, more comfortable, and more productive. “Kim is really great to work with. She knows a lot about products and is always willing to share ideas and options with the team. She has a super attitude and is committed to a high level of quality. We all enjoy working with her, and she brings confidence and consistency to our team. She is great with customers as well, which we all know sets BI apart from our competitors." —Tony Roper, Client Advisor | Florida Director “Kim is an extremely knowledgeable designer, a big team player, and an excellent go-to resource for other team members. She has a great attitude and is always happy to help when needed. Kim will do whatever it takes to get a job done, even if it is outside of the design bubble. She is much appreciated and a huge asset to Business Interiors!" —Celia Spurrier, Design | Director Thank you for being such a great asset to BI, Kim! ✨

Business Interiors is proud to have worked on Phelps Dunbar’s new Birmingham law office. Phelps Dunbar LLP, a large law firm with multiple locations around the United States and London, recently relocated their Birmingham office to the Massey Building, a historic renovation project spearheaded by CCR Architecture & Interiors. CCR transformed the space with an abundance of natural light, bright finishes, and a focus on the firm’s branding—a remarkable change from their previous office, which consisted of dark tones and heavy furniture. The private offices are Knoll Reff veneer, with a mixture of adjustable and fixed-height desk layouts. The entire project includes a lobby and reception, private offices, workstations, a breakroom + cafe, conference rooms, and a law library. Congratulations to all involved, as the project is a beautiful success. 📸 liesa Cole (Images 1-3, 5, 6) and Lori Gardner-Swern (Images 4, 7, 8) See more of Business Interiors’ work at https://lnkd.in/gPtkbi6H

Business Interiors is honored to have been recognized recently by both the Birmingham Business Journal and the UAB National Alumni Society. BI ranked #43 in the BBJ’s Top 100 “Largest Privately Held Companies” in their June 2024 “This Week’s List” issue. This ranking is up sixteen spots from our ranking of the 59th largest in 2023. Additionally, BI is honored to have been recognized by the UAB National Alumni Society as the #1 fastest-growing company whose revenues are over $10 million. Business Interiors’ Jack Womack, a UAB alumni, was also presented with a Top 25 award for his role in BI’s continued success. This is the second year in a row that Jack has received this honor. A special thank you to our clients and industry partners. Our success is not due to any one project, one client, or one person. It is a collective success built on hard work, relationships, and dedication, and we are incredibly grateful that you trust us to do what we do best. A HUGE thank you to the entire BI team. These two accolades represent our team’s accomplishments. From Huntsville to Pensacola, Birmingham to Tallahassee, and Montgomery to Gainesville, the BI team is responsible for our shared success. You all are the best in the business, and we thank you for taking pride in the work we do. ✨

Business Interiors is proud to have sponsored and participated in the inaugural Keira Grace Foundation Charity Golf Tournament in Gainesville, Florida. The Kiera Grace Foundation was founded in 2004 by Drs. Michael and Eileen Lauzardo as a not-for-profit whose mission is to bring hope, restoration, and life to children with cancer in Latin America. As part of their history and mission, “the treatment of children’s cancer has improved dramatically and many forms are considered curable. But this is not the case for 80 percent of the world’s children who live in poverty-stricken countries where cancer is often a death sentence. Keira Grace Foundation focuses on taking proven cancer treatment to developing nations where the most impact can be made, dramatically improving survival” BI Client Advisor Hugh Davis has worked with the KGF since its formation, and he is a longtime friend of the Lauzardos. Hugh was joined by BI’s Tony Roper and Shawn Bonds and Colin Farrell from HCA Healthcare Lake City in playing in this tournament, supporting a great cause.
