  • Last Wednesday marked the kickoff of our 10-week Walking Moai at Scottsdale Fashion Square, and it was a fantastic start! Participants not only got their steps in and enjoyed complimentary coffee but also made meaningful connections and new friends. One story that truly touched us involved a young woman who discovered our event through social media. She signed up her parents, who had just moved to the area, ensuring they could join in on the fun!! This moment was a powerful reminder: not everyone sees our social media posts, and sometimes, it takes a little extra effort to bring people together. If you're active on social media and have family members in the area who may not be, consider sharing our events with them! And if there’s hesitation — as doing new things can sometimes be a little nerve racking — consider going with them! These activities can be a lifeline in combating the loneliness epidemic that so many face. While those of us online may understand the impact of isolation, it's crucial to think of those who aren't as connected. Thanks again to everyone who came to this event and we’re excited to see more of you going forward!! Let’s continue to bring people together, and create a stronger, healthier community. Stay tuned for our upcoming events and don’t forget that Positive Packs are social circles that support healthy behaviors! See you soon!! #BlueZonesProject #Scottsdale #CommunityWellness #WalkingMoai #ScottsdaleFashionSquare #WellBeing #Health

  • Thank you to Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP), a statewide public health initiative offered by the Arizona Department of Health Services, for encouraging healthier work environments through worksite wellness efforts. We are thrilled to announce that the Blue Zones Project Scottsdale office, located in Old Town Scottsdale, has been honored with the 2024 Silver HAWP Award! This prestigious recognition highlights our commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of our local team alongside our community work.  The Healthy Arizona Worksite Award (HAWP) celebrates businesses in Arizona that positively impact the health and well-being of their employees, families, and community through evidence-based health initiatives and promising programs.  HAWP provides training, tools, and step-by-step resources in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Additionally, HAWP fosters connections between Arizona businesses to share experiences and learn from each other.  Similarly, the Blue Zones Worksite Approval incorporates a variety of initiatives centered on the physical environment, benefits/well-being programs, leadership, social networks, purpose, and the work community to make the healthy choice the easy choice.  Our participation in the Healthy Arizona Worksite Program (HAWP) and achieving Blue Zones Worksite Approval enables us to embody the core values of Blue Zones. We strive to be role models within our community, sharing our best practices throughout Arizona. Congratulations to the other Arizona employers who also received the 2024 HAWP Award!
