🎶 This past weekend, we hosted a wonderful music recital at CABVI where our clients showcased their growth through music therapy. Each performance was amazing, and we’re proud to be a part of each client’s journey through services like music therapy that make a difference in their lives. This week, members of our CABVI team traveled to Washington, D.C. for the NIB/NAEPB Training Conference and Expo. We showcased our AbilityOne and visually impaired employee programs, highlighting the incredible work across our business lines. We were especially proud to celebrate Venus Kincaid as our Blind Employee of the Year and recognize Rob Volker as our nominee for the prestigious Milton J. Samuelson Award during the closing ceremony. CABVI had a blast last night at Northern Kentucky University for Delta Gamma’s “Serve it for Sight” fundraiser, where members of our team joined in the pickleball tournament! The Delta Gamma Sorority’s national philanthropy is service for sight, with individual chapters supporting organizations focused on empowering people with vision loss. Their NKU chapter helps local organizations like CABVI through volunteer hours and fundraising efforts. 🌍 Today is World Sight Day, a global event dedicated to raising awareness about blindness, visual impairment, and the importance of eye health. Did you know over 2.2 billion people worldwide experience vision impairment, and nearly half of those cases could be prevented or treated? In the U.S. alone, 93 million adults are high risk for serious vision loss, but only half of those have visited an eye doctor in the past 12 months. Regular eye exams are crucial for early detection, treatment, and maintaining good eye health! At CABVI, we’re proud to offer services such as low vision services, vision rehabilitation therapy, assistive technology services, and orientation and mobility training to over 4,000 people in our community. Additionally, we provide early childhood and youth services as well as audio information services and employment opportunities to help individuals who are blind or visually impaired maintain their independence.
