Last week, we celebrated our incredible partnership with University of Maryland Medical System and our dedicated board member, Mohan Suntha at Katherine Johnson Global Academy in West Baltimore. Together, over the last three years, we have opened 10 #STEMCenters across the state of Maryland. Youth now have access to #STEMeducation and can continue to work towards their future as #doctors, #nurses, #engineers, and so much more. Transform Communities, Change Kids' Lives
About us
Launched in 2001, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation honors the life and memory of the Ripken family patriarch, long-time mentor and coach, Cal Ripken, Sr. Since 2001, we have created youth development programs and outdoor recreational spaces that have impacted over 11,000,000 at-risk youth with the help of over 40,000 youth mentors, coaches, teachers, and law enforcement volunteers. Our mission is to continue to help strengthen America’s most underserved and distressed communities by supporting and advocating for children, building Youth Development Parks, partnering with law enforcement and youth service agencies, and addressing community needs including STEM education through our national program initiatives. The Foundation provides opportunities for kids to play in safe environment, live healthy lifestyles, gain access to STEM education, and learn to make productive choices for their futures. We owe our success to our dedicated national Board of Directors, our corporate, foundation, individual, state, and federal sponsors, and our youth partners who help us to impact 1.4 million at-risk youth across the country each year.

Thank you Southwest Airlines and our board member, Melanie O'Brien, MPA, for their ongoing support. Since 2011, Southwest has provided airfare for hundreds of youth from across the country to participate in our overnight Summer Camp. In addition, they helped sponsor our #StudentSTEMChallenge, an annual competition for students participating in our #STEM program. Check out this feature article in the Baltimore Business Journal to learn more about our partnership: https://lnkd.in/evGCveDA.

🏎 Bringing #STEM to the racetrack! 🏎 Last Friday, thanks to Group 1001 and Gainbridge, we partnered with Andretti Global to bring 50 students from Metro Nashville Public Schools to Nashville Superspeedway to see how #science, #technology, #engineering, and #math plays a huge role in INDYCAR! Students had the opportunity to speak with Gainbridge athletes' Colton Herta (winner of the Music City Grand Prix!) and Marcus Ericsson on how STEM impacts their day to day as well as tour the Andretti and Firestone Garages. Thank you to our incredible partners for making our #STEM dreams come true! #STEMeducation | #youthdevelopment
