About us

CAP Tulsa, a community action agency, is focused on interrupting the cycle of poverty. We provide high-quality child care and early education services for young children, as well as a range of supportive services designed to improve the economic status of their parents. CAP Tulsa provides the support and guidance with early childhood education and comprehensive enrichment programs for the entire family. CAP Tulsa specifically focuses on a two generation approach that aims not only to prepare young children for future success in school, but also their parents through programs designed to increase parenting skills, employability and earning potential. CAP Tulsa serves nearly 2,000 of Tulsa's low-income children in 10 early childhood centers across the county. CAP employs more than 600 staff members and coordinates the work of many vital volunteers. Our Learning@Home program is scoring BIG with fathers this year! Back in March, parent educators conducted a series of focus groups to find out how to make monthly Group Connection activities even better, and one of the highlights was they learned ways to involve more dads. Last month’s Group Connection activity was held at Soccer City Tulsa and look at all the dads who attended!⚽ Involving the entire family is key to a child’s development, progress, and success!💚 To learn more about Learning@Home, our home-visiting program for pregnant moms and families with children under age 5, click here: https://lnkd.in/gAWdx_-w #CAPTulsa #EarlyEducation #LearningAtHome #Fathers

During our recent ECP Service Days, our CFO, Michael Madsen, spent time in a classroom at our Eugene Field school. The purpose of ECP Service Days is to give our headquarters staff an opportunity to experience the daily routines of our dedicated teachers and connect more deeply with our mission. After the service day, one of our little artists, Ky’Vion, helped make a thank you card for Mr. Michael. He drew a big monster truck like the one he and Mr. Michael played with during the visit. When asked about Mr. Michael, Ky’Vion said, “He was super cool!” 🥰 Mr. Duncan, Ky’Vion’s teacher, also expressed his thanks for Mr. Michael volunteering his time and being one more person to show love to the kids. Mr. Michael was overwhelmed with gratitude when he received this special card. 💚 We appreciate how our amazing teachers and staff find ways to foster connections. It makes all the difference! 💖 #CAPTulsa #Community #HeartfeltMoments #ThankYou

We kicked off the new school year yesterday with our annual Pre-Service event for all CAP Tulsa employees! Staff gathered at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center to “Celebrate the Boundless Potential of Children!” Decked out in fun shirts representing their school or department, everyone came ready to celebrate last year’s successes and prepare together for the amazing year ahead. This year’s keynote speakers, Donna Porter and DJ Batiste, captivated everyone with engaging, funny, and relatable stories about the importance of focusing on community, unity, and family in our classrooms. Their personal story of how fostering a sense of belonging for children changes the trajectory of their future was powerful. We are looking forward to an extraordinary school year! 💚 🎉 #CAPTulsa #BackToSchool #Community #Unity #Family
