This week, I’m so honored to share my heartfelt conversation with Ila Edgar, Founder of Big Change Inc. Ila is a “Trust” expert who has such an inspiring story that started with her parents settling in Alberta, Canada from Hungary. Early in her career, Ila was faced with an opportunity of a lifetime, which was being hired as Employee #8 at WestJet, which propelled her career into Aviation, Higher Education, then Leadership Coaching. Ila’s company name, Big Change, is so fitting as her life and journey has been faced with so many big changes that she had to overcome. This week, I'm excited to share my wide ranging conversation with Bianca Sibiya, the Founder and COO of the TheFixerCo. Bianca shares her story about growing up in Durban, a coastal city in South Africa, that was the center of resistance to apartheid in the 1970s. Bianca's impressive career included launching the first black hair products in Africa with L'Oréal, to MTV Africa with Viacom, to creating the African infrastructure with TikTok. I'm so incredibly grateful to have met Bianca as I learned so much about African culture, fashion, politics, and her passion for marketing, branding and her impact on the psychology of business and economics throughout Africa. Today, I'm thrilled to share the amazing journey of Danielle Smeltzer, who had aspirations to be a professional soccer player. At the age of 14, she made nationals and was well on her way to achieving her dream of representing Canada in the World Cup. The universe had a different plan for Danielle as she suffered an injury that would keep her from ever stepping foot on a soccer field. This injury would have a major impact on her life, well-being, and professional career. Danielle shares her heartfelt journey of how she reclaimed and redefined her identify as a professional, which ultimately led to her launching Awarely Embodied Leadership, a company focused on helping women reclaim their well-being. I'm so excited to share the journey of Angela Pointon, who started her career journey with a passion for Photography, but quickly pivoted her design aspiration towards Marketing. Angela describes her intentional focus of leaving the daily grind of corporate work to the freedom and flexibility of being self-employed along with the sacrifices she made along the way. She launched 11outof11, a digital marketing agency in 2017, which was a fastest growing company for many years. She recently sold and exited the the company and is now working as a Fractional CMO.
