💡 Every U.S. institution of higher education, already running on the Carnegie Unit, could utilize an Apprenticeship Degree – today. In Dr. Mallory Dwinal-Palisch’s recent stop by Apprenticeship 2.0, she shares how (hint: similar to high-potential working adult talent, the answer is “hidden in plain sight”). Listen to the full episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts: https://lnkd.in/ge_WntjZ A big thanks to our marketing partners: CareerWise Colorado, The Council of State Governments, Jobs for the Future (JFF), National Center for Grow Your Own, National Rural Education Association, Arapahoe Community College, Equity Institute, Colorado Latino Leadership, Advocacy & Research Organization, and the Teacher Apprentice Council for all they do to build broad awareness of U.S. apprenticeships and Apprenticeship Degrees. 👏

Congratulations to Binyamin! We're so proud of him!
We want to give a huge congratulations to Binyamin Starks for his Black Belt certification! 🎉✨ Binyamin's last day of his apprenticeship with the City and County of Denver's Parks & Recreation team was on August 1, 2024. We want to thank CareerWise Colorado for sending such a wonderful apprentice through! Binyamin created an apprentice-specific onboarding manual for DPR. His manual guides apprentices through their three year time with the City and highlights key skills they should learn by the end of each year. Congrats, Black Belt! We can't wait to have you back in the City!

We are honored to be part of the growing movement of #youthapprenticeship in America. Welcome aboard, Brent!
CareerWise CEO and Founder Noel Ginsburg is pleased to announce the selection of former Acting Assistant Secretary of United States Department of Labor (USDOL), Brent Parton as President of CareerWise. Parton brings deep commitment, experience and expertise to supporting economic mobility for young people. Operating from New York City, a growing flagship CareerWise site, Brent joins the CareerWise team well positioned to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and innovation. Parton comes to CareerWise after a distinguished career in public service and strong track record of leadership in workforce development. He shaped and led workforce efforts in both the Obama and Biden Administrations, most recently as the Acting Assistant Secretary for the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) at the U.S. Department of Labor, leading change across federal training systems and overseeing more than $3 billion of annual federal investment in workforce and apprenticeship. In addition to his federal service, Parton was the Deputy Director of the Center on Education & Labor at New America, where his research led to the founding of the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship (PAYA). Across his experience, including roles at the National Governors Association and the World Bank, Parton worked alongside state and local leaders, industry, and philanthropy to build and lead workforce initiatives and coalitions. With a background in both the public and private sector, he is a key player shaping national policies to align education and workforce systems to improve outcomes for youth, workers and regional economies. "We are thrilled to welcome Brent to CareerWise," said Ginsburg. “When I founded CareerWise nine years ago, we knew we had to first prove the success of the youth apprenticeship model. We’ve done that. Now, Brent will be an important leader in not only expanding our nation-leading youth apprenticeship model, but also advancing our movement nationwide to ensure young people across the country have access to many pathways into the workforce. I’ve known Brent for nearly a decade and believe he is the most knowledgeable person in the country to lead this change." You can read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/g-bcRvFy

We are thrilled about the new Colorado legislation that connects Career and Technical Education (CTE) with apprenticeship systems. These updates, including the statewide data system, evaluation of non-degree credentials, and employer incentives for hiring apprentices, will significantly benefit students and employers. Aligning CTE with registered apprenticeships, especially in high-demand industries, is a crucial step towards enhancing workforce outcomes and equipping students with essential skills and credentials. 🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic investment in Registered Apprenticeships. This funding is part of a $244 million effort by the Department of Labor to modernize, diversify, and expand the Registered Apprenticeship system across growing U.S. industries. This investment aligns with the administration’s Investing in America agenda, aiming to rebuild the middle class and create opportunities for underrepresented populations in high-demand careers. With nearly $195 million from the Apprenticeship Building America initiative and $49 million through the State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula grants, the impact will be far-reaching and transformative. We are honored to be part of this initiative, which will enable us to: ✅ Expand Registered Apprenticeship programs in key industries. ✅ Provide high-quality training and career pathways. ✅ Support diverse and underserved communities. ✅ Contribute to a skilled workforce that supports President Biden’s Investing in America agenda. This grant will empower us to collaborate with employers, educators, and other stakeholders to launch innovative apprenticeship programs, ensuring equitable pathways for all. Thank you to the Biden-Harris Administration and the Department of Labor for this incredible opportunity. We are excited to continue building a stronger, more inclusive workforce for the future! #Apprenticeship #WorkforceDevelopment #InvestingInAmerica #CareerOpportunities #InclusiveGrowth #YouthApprenticeship https://lnkd.in/gyRHwBJY
