East Coast Client Services Manager at Cascade Environmental

Last week I got to spend some time with the Aquifer Drilling & Testing, Inc. branch of Cascade Environmental, LLC in the great state of New York. ADT represents a huge arm of our drilling capacity nationwide. They offer both geotechnical and environmental drilling services and run an average of 30 crews out of their office in Long Island. As a union entity, the majority of their work is in the greater NYC area, but they can support any job across the US that requires union labor. We are actually getting ready to mob an ADT crew and rig down to South Carolina for a very deep, complex geotechnical drilling job! With an arsenal of 60 rigs, ADT has plenty of options for your site - truck vs track, limited access, over water, etc. Not only do they have capability to almost any drilling job, they also provide traffic control, vac truck services for utility clearance, GPR services, paving/concrete work, and general union labor. Plus they handle all the permits themselves! Those of you that frequent NYC may recognize this view from one of our job sites near Hudson Yards. This is a massive geotechnical job we’ve been working for almost a year in support of the future Gateway Tunnel! Really cool to see cores of the famous Manhattan schist and granitic pegmatite layers of the Manhattan formation 🤩 Rashid Malyukov is doing a fabulous job as the lead driller on this site, and a huge shoutout and thank you to everyone involved on this very high profile job!

  • This employee shoutout goes to Mike Bess for his outstanding leadership and safety-first mindset in an especially challenging logistical situation. Here's what his manager, Joey Negro, had to say: "Yesterday, Mike Bess was critical in preventing a driver/trucking company from becoming headline news in Brooklyn. Between 4am and 6:30am, Mike essentially walked/coached a new driver delivering a 175,000 lb delivery through several blocks of tight turns and morning traffic. Short of jumping in the 120+ foot, 100+tire setup and driving it for the vendor, Mike got the main truck into the site, unloaded the rig, disassembled the connected trailers, loaded the jeep/backend trailer back ONTO the main bed, and got the driver back out of NYC safely. There wasn't enough time in the morning to break out my phone and record every Cascade Card example of where Mike intercepted unsafe situations and looked out for other individuals, Cascade or not, and effectively controlled the environment." We're proud of the initiative you took here, Mike. Please join us in commending him! #EmployeeShoutout #SafetyFirst
