Job training programs help students forge a path to a meaningful, sustainable career, providing opportunities that can not only change their lives, but those of their families and communities. Kerry Alys Robinson and several CCUSA colleagues were thrilled to join staff, volunteers and students of DC Central Kitchen's Culinary Job Training Program at their Chili Cook-Off yesterday. “I am passionate to help people,” said Daniela, who with her husband Juan Pablo completed the Latinos in Finance program at Catholic Charities, Diocese of Nashville. Both now work as bank tellers. The program is a collaboration of CCUSA and UnidosUS (WeAreUnidosUS). We celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and workers like Daniela and Juan Pablo.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM) La Casa Amiga Community Program, a collaboration between CCUSA and UnidosUS (WeAreUnidosUS). “It got me ready and built my confidence to apply to jobs,” said Sylvia, one of 17 graduates from the first cohort of the Latinos in Finance initiative that trains bilingual speakers for the financial services field.

“The program changed my future,” said Maria-José, a graduate of the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington Bank Sales Representative Training Program, a collaboration of CCUSA and UnidosUS. The national Latinos in Finance program trains bilingual bank tellers in customer service and the financial sector. Maria-José now works at a national bank with the skills she gained.
