A Senate investigation has uncovered a troubling trend among Medicare Advantage insurers. UnitedHealth, Humana and CVS are ramping up their use of technology to deny claims, resulting in a 25% denial rate for post-acute coverage requests. As technology evolves, we must ensure it serves patient needs. Read the article from STAT (subscription required): https://hubs.li/Q02TRSg10 #healthcare #Medicare #AI

💍❤️ A Love Story Against All Odds ❤️💍 Amid Tomás Hernández's battle with Stage 4 cancer, Kassandra Salcedo has stayed by his side day and night. When staff at a Dignity Health hospital in California learned of the couple's desire to marry, they pulled together a heartfelt wedding ceremony in just 24 hours. "I was surprised, but they did it to make everything possible. It was the greatest day ever," said Hernández. 👉 Read Valerie Schremp Hahn's heartwarming article in Catholic Health World 📰: https://hubs.li/Q02TGMDd0 #LoveWins CommonSpirit Health

Senior Director, Mission Innovation & Integration at The Catholic Health Association of the United States
The Catholic Health Association of the United States was honored to once again serve as a sponsor for the annual gathering of the National Association of Health Services Executives (N.A.H.S.E.). Despite Milton, we met in Fort Lauderdale for several days of learning, sharing of best practices, networking, and advocating for health equity. It was wonderful to meet so many young aspiring leaders from Georgia State University, as well as Weslie Simon, intern at Atrium Health. While the storm largely spared southeast Florida, our hearts and prayers go out to all those impacted by the hurricane. Thank you to CHA members who joined us in sponsoring this important and inspiring event, including CommonSpirit Health, Ascension, CHRISTUS Health, and Bon Secours Mercy Health. A special thanks to my mission colleagues Marcos Pesquera and Corinne Francis!

Community health work has been at the heart of Catholic health care for more than a century, yet this foundational work is misunderstood and goes unrecognized publicly. By using the power of storytelling to amplify the benefits of community health programs, we highlight critical needs and advance social change.
