Today is World Mental Health Day and this year’s theme is ‘It is time to prioritise mental health in the workplace’. At C&D Foods, that’s a principle we take very seriously every day. Our aim is to support our team’s mental health and wellbeing by offering them a supportive workplace and workplace culture that helps them thrive and ensures their talent can flourish. It’s Pet Obesity Awareness Day today, and, as experts in pet nutrition, it’s a topic very close to our hearts here at C&D Foods.😻 According to the most recent statistics from UK Pet Food: 🐶77% of vets believe the prevalence of pet obesity has increased 🐕50% of dogs are overweight or obese 🐈43% of cats are overweight or obese Most worryingly of all, 70% of pet owners think their pet is the correct weight and only 8% admitted that their pet needed to lose some weight – indicating that some pet pawrents are spoiling their companions too much and are not concerned or informed enough about the consequences. We’re doing our bit to tackle this issue by developing delicious complete and balanced foods with protein-rich recipes in varied formats, so that consumers have a choice of sizes and foods to offer their pet. We also make sure that labelling is clear so that pet pawrents can check what amount of food is right for their pet. It’s natural to want to spoil our pets and show them love with extra food – and those feed-me eyes can be pretty compelling – but it’s essential for cats and dogs to eat food that is correctly balanced for their needs in the right amounts and we’re working with brands and retailers to do just that. #PetObesity #petfood #dogfood #catfood #dogs #cats #cdfoods
