We're reminded that architecture is a collaborative art. The Whittingham Discovery Center's LEED Platinum designation is case in point. This achievement was made possible through the dedication of our client, the Mill River Park Collaborative, and the expertise of the team of designers who conceived its systems, structure, site, and lighting. And to meet LEED's special requirements, it also relied on Sheri (Cheryl) Dieso, AIA, LEED AP BD C, CPHC of Bryant Dieso to coordinate and execute the certification process. Park Synagogue, Pepper Pike, Ohio. Our design enlarged the existing sanctuary by removing a wall between it and an old social hall. Its bimah and ark were reoriented to face the center of newly expanded seating, and lower, arcing ceilings with similar arrays of “dropping” lights step down to keep the whole as intimate as it is grand. https://lnkd.in/eHs6EiYZ
Later this month, Pomfret School will host the iconic Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company as part of its Schwartz Visiting Fellow Program. Led by the acclaimed dancer and choreographer Bill T. Jones, the company will perform for the public in Hard Auditorium on Sunday, January 26th at 7:00pm. The metal panels at the Whittingham Discovery Center feature a biophilic pattern that evolved to be a central design element. They cast dramatic shadows inside and relate to the park with a color reminiscent of tree trunks. https://lnkd.in/ehubNJxC
