Thank you to Bandera Electric Cooperative, CoServ, Central Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc., United Cooperative Services, Comanche Electric Cooperative - CECA, Grayson Collin Electric Cooperative, Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation and the many others who have sent linemen to East Texas to help restore power to our members. Over 1,000 linemen, contractors, and vegetation management crews from Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma and other states are working across our area. Crews have now restored to 24,000 members following Hurricane Beryl tearing through our area. Some transmission was lost last night which caused some members in Walker and San Jacinto Counties who had service restored earlier to lose it again. Crews are working to restore these areas now. Central Texas Electric Co-op recently hosted a local student from Gillespie County High School. The student spent his day job shadowing a variety of roles. In the morning, he was with the lineman crew who demonstrated climbing, tools, and bucket truck operation. He also took a trip with the construction crew for a powerline installation. His afternoon was spent in the mechanic shop and the meter shop. Thank you to FISD and GCHS for allowing us to showcase some of our amazing career paths at CTEC!
