Chesterfield County continues to set an example for the innovative use of technology in local government, earning the top spot in the 2024 Digital Counties Survey. This is the fifth time Chesterfield has been ranked No. 1 since 2010. For 15 consecutive years, Chesterfield has ranked in the top 10 nationally and in the top five for nine years running in its population category. 🔦 Our Intern Spotlight. Our summer interns have been such an integral part of our team in Constituent and Media Services. You’ll hear their podcast come out soon, but take a second to get to know them and read about their accomplishments! We have Kate Stanko back for her second internship with us! She is a student at Virginia Tech University who is gifted in technical writing and graphic design. Kate exudes kindness and creativity and executes a beautiful balance between serious topics and creative pieces. She has helped with design projects and writing assignments during the course of her internship in our department. Kate is also a bass player and a DJ, often coordinating events, playing at venues, and producing the radio show at school. She’s honestly way too cool for us. Emily Waters is a Virginia Tech student who truly desires to work in local government to make a difference. She is gifted in writing, taking on several of our news releases and blogs this summer, and is consistently looking to serve others with her warm personality. In her spare time, Emily plays volleyball and takes time to mentor other younger players. She also loves to experiment in the kitchen. Did we mention she was on Chopped Junior?!?! Excuse us while we fangirl. We couldn’t be more thankful for these interns and cannot wait to see what their future holds. They have far exceeded our expectations and their gifts in the workplace are equally matched with their desire to have an impact in their community.
