Today, we wish the company of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s PERICLES a happy closing at their home in Stratford-upon-Avon and eagerly look forward to their time in Chicago! This will mark the RSC’s return to Chicago for the first time in 30 years, part of a new, ongoing partnership between our two companies—and will be the only place in the US you can catch this stunning production! Beginning October 20. RSC co-artistic director Tamara Harvey stages Shakespeare’s moving tale with an incredible ensemble cast, led by Zach Wyatt in the title role. When Prince Pericles solves a riddle set by a neighboring King, he knows the answer could get him killed. Fleeing for safety, he finds himself swept away on an epic voyage that will see him battle princes, marry his true love, and become a father. But this is also a journey of storms and shipwrecks, abduction and devastating loss. Adrift in an ocean of grief, will Pericles ever see his family again?
