  • “We all need a safe home where we can sleep, eat, and convivir with our familias.” Last week, we celebrated the completion of our newest affordable housing project, the Gold Country Manor apartments. This will provide a home for 50 new families or individuals—many for whom housing was just a dream. 💭 These apartments will give residents easy access to urgent medical care, fresh and affordable groceries, and a safe environment for their children to play. 👥 Thank you to Nevada State Housing Administrator Steve Aichroth, President of Dayton Chamber of Commerce John Cassinelli, and Deputy Regional Representative Ashley Martinez from US Senator Jacky Rosen’s Office. Thank you also to CPLC Nevada President Rupert Ruiz, Vice-President of Real Estate Development Nic Smith, and Director of Development Eddie Hult, who oversaw every aspect of this project since it was just an idea. Let’s continue working together to make housing accessible to more people in our community! 🏢

  • Thank you for all your hard work each day. 💗👥 As a community, we rely on one another to do our jobs right so that the roads we drive on are safe. 🛣️ So that when we are hungry, we can find fresh fruits and vegetables at our grocery stores. 🌽🍇🥕 So that when we go home after a long day of work, we feel safe and protected in our stable, durable homes. 🏡 The world we live in works, because we all contribute our work. And we are hardworking, desde la raíz. 🌱 Happy Labor Day! 💪

  • After our recent CPLC Scholar Orientation, our new cohort of Scholars is ready to take on any challenge the semester brings! 💪📚📓    During the orientation, students heard from former CPLC Scholar, Representative Lorena Austin (Arizona House of Representatives D9). She encouraged students, gave them advice for college and life, and even invited them to reach out to her if they ever need anything.    That’s what community is about—it's about helping one another and lifting each other up. And for first-generation or Latino students, it can be especially difficult to navigate higher education. 🏫    Thank you to Food City AZ and Valley Toyota Dealers for supporting the dreams of these bright young minds in our community. 🌱🌻 You are helping more people in our community access education and gain the tools to break barriers.    We’re confident that by working together and helping one another, we can overcome any challenge on the path to our dreams. CPLC Scholars, you are strong and determined, desde la raíz.

  • “Sometimes, when you get to the top, you forget what it’s like to be at the bottom.” 🌄 After experiencing a difficult childhood, Andrew Rivas decided to sacrifice his dream of becoming a doctor so he could make things better for his siblings and other children like them 🧒🏽🧒🏻 Now as a Community Support Advocate at Help New Mexico, he helps people gain access to the same community resources that once saved his life 👥 Swipe left to read his story ➡️

  • “As we waited for hours, we no longer played music and danced like we used to.” 👥 Growing up, Isael Gomez never imagined his carefree Saturdays strolling through a park in Mexico with his family would come to an end. Now, as an Immigration Counselor at CPLC Family Immigration Services, he helps immigrants find home 🏡🗽 And the border, once a fluid portal between two beloved countries, is now a stark reminder of the divisiveness we’re living through today. Swipe through to read his story of loss—and of hope 🙏🏽

Let’s welcome a new member of our CPLC Familia: Amanecer Community Counseling Service! 🎉 The LA-based nonprofit was founded in 1975 by Dr. Cecil Hoffman, with the goal of making mental health resources accessible to all who need them. The organization helps people in the community heal from trauma, unlock their potential, and establish new beginnings 🧘♀️ Today, we’re excited to continue Dr. Hoffman’s legacy and help Amanecer transform the lives of more people in their community through their mental health services. 💪 “We are students, parents, abuelos, innovators, helpers, and dreamers—all coming together to create a more equitable future for all.” ✨

  • As we celebrate Independence Day, let's reflect on the essence of being American. Nuestro history is shaped by remarkable individuals: Martin Luther King, Jr. tirelessly pursued his dream of racial equality, while Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta led farmworkers in the fight against racial discrimination and labor injustices. Their legacies remind us that the American spirit is resilient and that we can achieve change through unity. Happy Independence Day from our familia to yours! 🎆
