About us
Valley Children’s Healthcare provides Central California’s only high-quality, comprehensive care exclusively for children, from before birth to young adulthood. Our independent, nonprofit network offers highly specialized medical and surgical services to treat conditions ranging from common to the most unusual and complex at our 358-bed children’s hospital as well as through partner hospitals, specialty care centers, satellite practices and primary care services. Our family-centered, pediatric services extend from a leading pediatric cancer and blood diseases center on the West Coast, and our pediatric heart center known for its expertise and pioneering treatments, to our Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), the highest level referral center between Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Valley Children’s consistently ranks at the top of our peer group for quality patient outcomes, patient satisfaction and nursing excellence. Recognized as a Magnet® designated facility since 2004 and granted the gold-level Beacon Award for Excellence™ in critical care, Valley Children’s neonatal and pediatric intensive care units achieve some of the lowest mortality rates in the country while treating some of the sickest kids. In 2021, U.S. News and World Report again named Valley Children’s one of the best children’s hospitals in the country in seven pediatric specialties. It is back-to-school time, and our Guilds Center for Community Health recently hosted the first School Health Provider Professional Development Day with the Fresno County Office of Education and Fresno Unified School District to help prepare our local school nurses as they head back to campus! ✏️🩺🩵 More than 200 LVN’s and RN’s from more than 15 school districts throughout the Central Valley came together for a full day of training in preparation for the new 2024-2025 school year. Attendees learned about several topics including diabetes care, mental health asthma and vent care and much more to better support their students. We are proud to highlight the combined work of these school site professionals and Valley Children’s healthcare providers in further supporting our community, patients with special medical needs and each other as they return to school.

Have you seen the fitness trail at our Madera campus that debuted earlier this spring? This trail was designed with our patient families and staff in mind - providing a space for them to take a moment for relaxation or to get some movement in while on our campus. Equipped with exercise stations across the 7/8th of a mile loop and some of the best views of beautiful Madera County, we could not be more excited to provide this new feature of our Madera campus to our teams and families!
