About us
Children's Aid Society of Alabama (CAS) has provided services to families in need or at risk since 1912. We believe that children who grow up in safe, stable homes with loving families or permanent supports have the greatest chance of success. We help parents gain the skills and resources they need to keep families together. When children cannot remain with their birth families, we recruit and prepare adoptive homes. We house homeless young mothers and their children while they gain education and job skills that enable them to create family homes. We prepare youth in foster care to age out with the skills necessary to live independently.

Children's Aid Society of Alabama believes every child deserves the chance to thrive. Our multiple services provide support and resources that empower Alabama’s youth to build confidence, resilience, and a brighter future. APAC emphasizes the importance of listening to adoptees, and equipping adoptive and foster parents, as well as professionals in child welfare with ongoing trauma-informed training to strengthen youth. APAC’s counseling team also provides free services to adoptees and their families to build self-esteem, connection and permanence. Part of CTSP’s mission is restoring survivors of child labor and sex trafficking. Their multi-disciplinary team connects youth to supportive resources and more. Our IL program is committed to helping youth ages 14-21 in Alabama’s foster care system with life skills and opportunities to create better outcomes for themselves. PI not only provides safe temporary housing for young pregnant and parenting mothers experiencing homelessness; they mentor and assist these young women in achieving education and career goals. Preparing them to secure housing and keep their children safe. EPIC provides parents with actionable parenting skills, including tools to better communicate with their children and build healthy relationships that inspire confidence. Family Partners helps keep families together or reunite by providing direct intervention to families. Helping parents create positive childhood experiences. 💪✨ From adoption services and foster care support, to life skills training, we’re here to help Alabama’s youth reach their full potential. Together, we can lift up Alabama’s children and create lasting change. 🌟💙 Happy #youthconfidence day! Happy National #PASTADAY! Did you know that America's favorite pasta dish is spaghetti? Pasta is fantastic, but sometimes you want to lighten things up a bit, and this #ThrowbackThursday video shares the perfect recipe for a Spaghetti Squash bake. You may be wondering, "What does pasta have to do with any of the services Children's Aid Society of Alabama provides?" This video was shared by our Independent Living team in 2021. IL is constantly thinking of innovative ways to connect with our 14 - 21 year old youth in Alabama's foster care as they teach them meaningful life skills, provide mentorship, and guide them to resources to advance education, vocation, and housing opportunities. The goal is to prepare our youth in foster care for a successful life of independence once they exit care. To learn more about IL and how they empower youth across our entire state to create better outcomes for themselves, visit ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eve-UVAz.
