Talking About Mental Health at Work: Let’s Close the Gap While 74% of U.S. employees agree it’s appropriate to discuss mental health at work, only 58% feel comfortable doing so. This gap highlights the ongoing stigma around mental health in the workplace. It’s time to change that. Let’s create environments where employees feel safe to have these important conversations and seek the support they need. What’s holding us back from having these conversations? We want to hear from you! What can workplaces do to make discussing mental health feel safer and more supportive? In the wake of recent hurricanes, many brave men and women—like linemen, construction workers, and emergency responders—are on the frontlines, working tirelessly to restore power, repair roads, replace infrastructure, as well as rebuild homes and businesses . These jobs are dangerous and demanding, both physically and mentally. It’s important to remember that resilience isn’t just about physical strength; it’s about mental strength too. Practicing self-care, seeking social support, and having the right training can help workers bounce back from the stresses they face. Together, we can build a culture of mental wellness that supports those who take on these critical, high-stress roles. Thank you to all the workers out there helping communities rebuild—your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. 💛 #standuppledge #ZeroSuicideIndustry #ConstructionCommunity #MentalHealthMatters #differencemaker #CIASP #STOPSuicide

We are proud to introduce the CIASP Pathway Model—a comprehensive guide which will be designed to help companies build effective mental health and wellness programs in the construction industry. This visual model sets the framework for proactive and practical steps to support mental health and prevent suicide at every level of the workplace. Please continue to follow us as we build out each building along the pathway. When complete, the pathway will be an interactive model that contains tools and resources for a company to build out their own comprehensive mental health and suicide prevention program. It will be made by the industry, and for the industry to combat the issues and challenges unique to construction. A special thank you to our dedicated Pathway Think Tank Participants for their hard work, expertise, and passion in bringing this model to life.
