Debt Awareness Week: Relationship Breakdown and Financial Struggles When Jane’s marriage broke down, so did her finances. Overnight, her mortgage payments doubled, bills piled up, and she faced the terrifying prospect of losing her home. The stress became unbearable—until she reached out for help. With support from the Lighthouse Charity, Jane received financial guidance, food deliveries to ease the burden, and a plan to regain control. Now, she’s back on her feet, sleeping better, and no longer trapped by debt. If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. 0345 605 1956 (UK) | 1800 939 122 (ROI) 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dq6RCnM8

📢 Championing Mental, Emotional and Physical Wellbeing in Construction As proud Supporters of The Lighthouse Charity, we were delighted to welcome Natalie Ryan -MHFA- (Partnership Manager) to our offices last week, to deliver a presentation on the #LighthouseCharity, as part of our Lunch & Learn series. Natalie shared valuable insights into the support services the charity provides for construction workers and their families, free of charge, 24/7 - and how (CPAS) CIF Pension Administration Services can play an important role in promoting its services, across the Sector. 🎥 On the Ground with MAC Surfacing Limited: Raising Awareness for The The Lighthouse Charity 🦺 We had the privilege of chatting with a dedicated worker from MAC Surfacing Limited, who, like many in the construction industry, had heard of The Lighthouse Club but wasn’t fully aware of the life-changing support it offers. It’s a reminder that while the tools to help are out there, they’re only as good as the awareness we spread. Let’s make sure no one in our industry feels they have to face the pressures of work and life alone. Here’s what The Lighthouse Club can offer: ✨ Free 24/7 Confidential Helpline – Because no one should suffer in silence. ✨ Mental Health Support – Counselling, resources, and a listening ear for when the pressure gets too much. ✨ Financial Assistance – For families affected by injury or illness within construction. ✨ Training in Mental Health First Aid – Equipping teams to spot the signs and take action. ✨ Online Self-Support Tools – Handy resources for building emotional resilience. Together, we can ensure every worker is equipped to tackle the highs and lows of construction life. Share this and help spread the word – you might just save a life. ❤️

Last Tuesday, I attended the Health and Wellbeing at Work show (how a week flies by!). What stood out most this year was the stronger focus on authenticity, mental and emotional health, and men’s health - yes! ✊ This excites me because I work with men: - Who feel burnt out. - Who feel pressured to maintain the facade that they’re okay - until they’re not. - Who don’t get enough credit or acknowledgement for the hard work they’re doing on themselves and for their co-workers, families, and businesses. It’s a tough gig being a man! (This doesn’t take away from the tough gig it is to be a woman or the unique challenges faced by other genders, sexualities, and races - recognising someone’s journey doesn’t diminish anyone else’s. We are not about ‘comparative suffering’ here - thanks, Brené Brown, for introducing me to this concept!). Opening up the conversation and creating safe spaces in the corporate and business world - where men are traditionally conditioned to be stoic, lone wolves - at a platform as large as the HWB@Work show is a game-changer. I'm excited to see this important work expand into the mainstream - and to play a part in breaking down these barriers myself. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and highly recommend the show to anyone in the health and wellbeing space. The talks were insightful and inspiring, the exhibitors were varied and enthusiastic, and the show ran like a tight ship. Thanks to the speakers and everyone I connected with - looking forward to continuing the conversation!
