What a milestone. The B1M and Procore Technologies' Get Construction Talking campaign has now raised more than $600,000 for construction mental health charities worldwide, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone that's donated so far. We’re more than halfway to our $1M goal, but the journey is far from over 👉 https://lnkd.in/e6XrU-uz Commenting on the news, Procore’s CEO Tooey Courtemanche said: “Since launching this campaign, many leaders of some of the largest construction companies in the world have reached out to me to reaffirm its importance. In fact, one of our largest contributors so far was a personal donation from the CEO of an ENR 400 company. It’s encouraging to see the industry come together to break the stigma around this topic.” The B1M’s founder Fred Mills, who has publicly shared his own struggles with mental health as part of the campaign, said: “It's amazing to see Get Construction Talking reach this point and testament to the widespread desire there is across the industry to address this issue. Getting this right is one of the keys to the future success of construction. If we don’t get this right, the skills crisis will continue, the labor shortage will continue, and we will lose our most valuable, and important resource – people.” Funds raised from the Get Construction Talking campaign are going to support The Lighthouse Charity, Construction Sport and Mates in Mind in the UK, MATES in Construction in Australia and the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention in the US. There's so much more to do, but we're incredibly proud of Get Construction Talking's impact to date across our international events, site visits, website, social media, out-of-home activations in London and New York, and even coverage on BBC News - more than 20M people reached so far! We set out to raise awareness of mental health in construction and get the industry talking, and we're doing exactly that - but we need your help too. See how you can play a part and make a difference in our free toolkit, available to download over at 👉 getconstructiontalking.org Tackling construction's mental health crisis is complex. The issue is nuanced and unique to individuals. But if we can all become more aware of mental health, normalise conversations around it, look to spot the signs in our colleagues that something might not be right and point them in the direction of support, then we can collectively start to move the dial on this issue at a grassroots level. Get Construction Talking is founded on that objective. We're using the combined reach and influence of Procore Technologies, Fred Mills and The B1M to raise awareness of mental health in construction, break the stigma, get millions talking and to lift-up charities working in this space, raising $1M for them in the process. You can make a donation to support these charities here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gqKSAKuu You donations will support the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention, Mates in Mind, The Lighthouse Charity, MATES in Construction and Construction Sport. Let's keep moving forward and work to tackle this issue together ✊ #GetConstructionTalking #construction #wellbeing #architecture #engineering #mentalhealth
