𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤 🇮🇪 Yesterday, CIE Tours had the honor of joining Ireland's Tánaiste, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Minister for Defense, Micheál Martin as he cut the ribbon at the grand opening of Ireland House New York. Located on the 17th floor of the iconic MetLife Building on Park Avenue, this state-of-the-art hub will house the Consulate General of Ireland, New York, Bord Bia - The Irish Food Board, Enterprise Ireland USA, IDA Ireland, Tourism Ireland, The Ireland Funds and CIE Tours – all under one roof. This exciting space will provide a platform to advance Ireland’s interests and values in the city of New York, the region and in the US as a whole.  The Tánaiste remarked, “I have no doubt that Ireland House New York will serve us well in the years ahead as a hub for diplomacy, trade, business, tourism; promoting Irish food and culture and ensuring we can maximize our collective impact in New York.” A special moment for CIE Tours was the presentation of a framed photo of the Tánaiste’s late father, Paddy Martin, who was a driver for CIE and CIE Tours for many years. Attendees included CIÉ - Córas Iompair Éireann CEO Lorcan O'Connor and representing CIE Tours Managing Director Stephen Cotter, CFO Stacy Riback, and CCO Rosanne Zusman. We look forward to the future of this dynamic collaboration at Ireland House! #IrelandHouse #CIETours #IrelandInNYC #TourismIreland #IrishBusiness #TravelIndustry

CIE Tours is proud to be co-sponsoring Project Children's March to Monaghan, celebrating next year’s 50th anniversary of the pioneering peacemaking organization. Between 1975 and 2015, Project Children enabled 23,000 children from Northern Ireland to escape their warring communities and spend a summer in America. These visits had a powerful impact, planting seeds for the peace process that resulted in the Good Friday Agreement of 1998. Read more about it at https://lnkd.in/eXYVEGGz.   Last week, CIE Tours team members Mary Capella, Noreen Bowden, and Eoghan Flood attended an event hosted by Women with Ambition and Invest Northern Ireland – Americas at the Fordham University School of Law. Project Children founder and former NYPD officer Denis Mulcahy was among those who addressed the crowd.

We’re proud to be part of CIÉ - Córas Iompair Éireann, a company committed to reducing its carbon footprint, enhancing energy efficiency and promoting circularity across all operations. Building on the Responsible Tourism Policy we launched in 2022, CIE Tours has recently developed a comprehensive decarbonization strategy to address the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from our own operational activities as well as the tours that we operate. #responsibletourism #sustainability

We are excited to share that the CIÉ Group has published our 2023 Sustainability Strategy Annual Review. Over the past year, we've made significant strides in reducing our carbon footprint, enhancing energy efficiency, and promoting circularity across our operations. Here are some key milestones from our latest review: - Introduction of biofuels and integration of renewable energy sources - Measures to boost energy efficiency - Transitioning our fleets towards zero-emission vehicles in partnership with the National Transport Authority 2023 was a landmark year, with CIÉ Group delivering 299.7 million passenger journeys across our operating companies @Bus Átha Cliath, @Bus Éireann and @Iarnród Éireann in 2023 - a new record. This achievement reflects our full recovery post-COVID and the trust our passengers place in public transport. We are proud to report a 21.4% increase in passenger journeys and a 1.1% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 2022 to 2023. Our carbon intensity has hit a record low of 0.95 kilograms of CO2 per passenger journey, thanks to the surge in passenger numbers and service expansion. Every journey with CIÉ Group moves us closer to a more sustainable future, reducing congestion, air pollution, energy consumption, and carbon emissions. For a detailed look at our sustainability efforts and future initiatives, read the full 2023 Sustainability Strategy Annual Review on our website www.cie.ie.

On this week’s Tuscan Treasures with Cinque Terre we loved having Melissa Shanks of Cruise Planners and her group join the tour. From their home base in the charming, historic spa town of Montecatini Terme they explored the gems of Tuscany and discovered the enchanting fishing villages of the Cinque Terre. These pictures are from last night at Castello di Verrazzano, an organic “agritourismo” estate producing excellent wine, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Of course, they then got to taste the wares at a delicious family style dinner at the castle. 🏰🍷 https://lnkd.in/eVzb-2ZG #italy #tourgroup #tuscany #cruiseplanners #zeneriteam

Happy #EarthDay! This annual celebration of our planet reminds us of our commitment to responsible tourism. Sustainability is important to us, and we believe we have a unique role in working for a positive impact in our communities and our environment. Our Responsible Tourism Policy reflects this commitment in three ways:  💚Social – We work to protect and share the heritage and cultural diversity of our destinations, and foster connections.  💚 Economic – We provide economic development and work to support the communities where we travel, live, and serve. 💚Environmental – We work with our partners to further environmental priorities. We can make a difference together! Ciao Bella! Our newest Italian adventure, Tuscan Treasures with Cinque Terre, is on its very first outing this week and our inaugural group of travelers is having a blast! Staying in the beautiful spa town of Montecateni Terme for the entire seven night trip, they have the luxury of only needing to unpack once. So far, they've visited Pisa and Florence and dined on delicious Italian delicacies. Here are some snapshots from their first few days... #TuscanTreasures #Italia #culturalitaly #mycietour Get all the details here https://lnkd.in/eVzb-2ZG
