The International Potato Center (CIP) was founded in 1971 as a research-for-development organization with a focus on potato, sweetpotato and Andean roots and tubers. Moamba District in southern Mozambique is taking strides toward a sustainable agricultural future through sweetpotato 🍠 cultivation. Thanks to hands-on training facilitated by IIAM in partnership with CIP, local farmers are adopting modern techniques to grow and multiply sweetpotato vines, ensuring higher yields 🌱 and better food security. As part of the TAAT II project, supported by the African Development Bank Group and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), these farmers are embracing climate-resilient, high-yield sweetpotato varieties.
