Congratulations to the CITGO Lake Charles Refinery team for successfully completing their worst-case scenario drill. 130+ participants, including emergency responders and representatives from local, state, and federal agencies, participated in the live exercise that tested emergency operations' command capabilities. "In our industry, preparing for and practicing our response to these emergency scenarios is critical to the safety of our employees and surrounding communities," said CITGO Lake Charles Vice President and General Manager Sterling Neblett. "Our emergency responders and agency partners play an essential role in this preparation, and we thank them for their dedication to ensuring everyone's safety." This successful exercise wouldn't have been possible without the support of our partners at the United States Coast Guard, Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Protection Agency, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, and Louisiana State Police. #EmergencyPerparedness #Louisiana #OperationalExcellence

At its inaugural Corporate Foam and Tank Fire School in Corpus Christi, CITGO united industry leaders and emergency responders for hands-on training in the latest fire safety innovations, including a groundbreaking non-PFAS foam demonstration. The two-day program took place earlier this month at the RTFC (Refinery Terminal Fire Company) Training Academy and included guest instructors from WILLIAMS FIRE & HAZARD CONTROL and fire protection engineers from SenezCo. "Gathering the experts and industry professionals to test the new non-PFAS foam is critical for the safety of our people, our facilities, and our communities," said Shane Moser, CITGO Vice President Health, Safety, Security and Environment, "but we're also here to learn from each other, collaborate, and understand how to apply industry best practices at our respective locations." The event welcomed guests from the South Portland, Maine, Fire Department; Braintree, Mass., Fire Department; Naval Air Station Corpus Christi; and other local municipalities and emergency response services. Guests from Valero, Phillips 66, Flint Hills, and Buckeye Pipeline also joined to learn and collaborate. "Our industry is no stranger to working together in emergencies," continued Moser, "and making this fire school available to additional emergency responders is one way we can contribute towards the safety of more people and communities and the surrounding environment." #FireSafety #FireTraining #EmergencyResponse
